He was fired for reasons that were NOT MISCONDUCT which is deemed to be ON PURPOSE AND THAT HE KNEW BETTER. PM me and I can probably help him in case he is turned down for unemployment benefits. No, I don't charge for the knowledge I have from previously being employed to make just those kinds of decisions. It does not matter which state you live in, the rules are basically the same everywhere. So, John got fired yesterday. This manager has necessary liked him and treated him like crap since she took over a year ago. Three months ago, he filed a complaint with HR because of it. Almost immediately, he was promoted to second assistant manager. This woman had no say in it.
Two weeks ago, he told someone to clean the donut robot. It was cleaned. The person making the donuts then set the blade wrong. It cut off the tops of a bunch of donuts and they landed in the grease, making it look like it wasn't cleaned.
Manager fired John saying it hadn't been cleaned. The store's cameras would prove her wrong, but even if he got his job back, she'd be even worse. She said he wasn't setting a good example as manager. I feel like it's retaliation.
He's going to complain to HR again. And he's already submitted half a dozen applications to other places. I'm trying to be positive here, but I'm scared. We can maybe survive for 2 months without him working if we penny pinch like crazy.
