I normally feed my kittens a 3 oz can of canned meat in the morning with 1/2 cup dry and the same in the evening (they share that amount). It appears they may be gaining a bit too much weight, so my question is - would you give the same amount of meat and cut back on the dry? Or vice versa. I think it might be better to keep the wet and cut back a bit on dry. They do get a few kitty treats a few times per week.

When our kitties needed to lose some weight, what helped us was cutting out all dry food and going wet food only. If they're kittens though, I wouldn't worry about weight gain at this point. They need it. Our girls were older.

7 and 9 month old kittens are still growing and can still pack on weight. I wouldn't worry about their weights. Increasing the canned cat food and giving less dry is good for any cat :agree: Canned cat foods are less calorie dense than dry food so you may need to feed a few more cans to make up for less dry food.

Make sure it’s canned cat food. Not just meat. An unbalanced canned meat should only be <15% of the diet. Canned food is great for loosing weight but your babies should have unlimited access to food til about a year
