I have been slowly incorporating wet food into Hollis's diet. She is almost 7 and has mostly only ever had dry. I seem to notice that she doesn't like pate as much as she likes the shredded or minced pieces in gravy. Is this the same for many of you, does your cat have a preference or is my girl just a little picky? :p

Olive will eat anything, but she seems to prefer pate. She eats it faster, and if it’s shreds she will slurp all of the broth and come back 20 min later for the rest. She seems to be hit or miss with chunks in gravy, she seems to love it sometimes and complain others.

Gohan is ridiculous. He seems to like soupy foods, I don’t think he likes the pate texture in his teeth. But he also literally gags at many foods, especially gravy chunks. We only feed him Caru because he seems to like it best, although we might branch out soon.

Felix hates the shredded wet food. He will spit it out and leave it there to dry (but still won't eat it). It is also as hard as rocks when it dries and I found it to be a weird gummy texture when wet. Not appealing to him at all. Not to me either, seems like an odd food.

Pate all the way for this picky boy! He also LOVES freshpet. That is the only food he will sit at his bowl for half an hour taking his time and eating. The rest, he walks away and leave lots of food in the plate. It's like a wet/raw mix? An in between kinda food.

Aslan will not eat any plastic shreds/chunks/what have you that is basically just molded wheat gluten.

He loves real shreds and chunks of meat though, like Weruva.

He also likes pate and he ESPECIALLY loves his gravies and broths.

I put out 3 kinds of wet food and a dish of dry kibble. He always eats all of his raw beef first thing, then the pate and Taste of the Wild canfood last by the end of the day.

Our cat Ginger will eat anything, but our cat Wiggles is quite picky. She tends to prefer shredded or chunky food (she has expensive tastes and prefers Tiki Cat and Weruva) but she'll also go on hunger strike if she's not getting enough variety. The things we do for our cats!

My girls used to really like pates. Especially the Friskies poultry ones. Now they won't touch them. They want the Nutro Max flavors so I order those through my Amazon subscribe and save. Those are filets in gravy. They also eat Dr. Elsey's chicken dry food but not much.

Lydia won't eat any chunky food. Occasionally I can get her to eat a shredded food like Weruva TruLuxe, but by far the only thing she really likes is pate, and it has to be smooth or thinned.

She also won't eat any tuna, "fish" , whitefish, etc. The only fish she likes are salmon and catfish mixed with trout.

She likes freeze dried food but only dry, not rehydrated.

Any food that she used to eat before my other cat died she refuses to touch anymore.

So yeah.... A bit picky. :lol:

Neither of my cats will eat any of the preformed canned foods. No chunks, shreds, or what ever. Pate is what they love. Plus kibble. Any kibble! They are quite the kibble heads!

Onyx and Fred are both pate eaters. I give them gravy based food once a week just to change things. They won't touch anything shredded. Smaller chunks seem to be what they like but they will eat Nutro Max which are larger.

Mine like the pieces in gravy or shreds better than pate, but they will eat pate. I feed them a pate style food every day for breakfast because it’s more calorie dense and they are hungry in the morning! The rest of the day is usually pieces in gravy.
