I am reading....drum roll....a ROMANCE!! Ha!! It's ok but so different from what I'm used to reading. It's entitled Nantucket Wedding. About a woman who is getting married for the third time, her two daughters and their drama, and her fiancee's family It's cheesy but ok. I'll be going back to my fave physiological thrillers after this.

I'm still wending my way through The Tea Shop mystery series. Still enjoying it, still learning a LOT about teas, how to prepare them, which ones have what qualities, where they come from, and of course, delicious recipes to serve with a good cup of tea! My latest was "Blood Orange Brewing."

BLOOD ORANGE BREWING

While catering a lavish affair, Theodosia finds herself with a ringside seat to yet another murder! Beloved Duke Wilkes is brutally murdered...very nearly in front of a crowd! His widow, and Theodosia's friend, is depending on Theodosia to find the culprit, even if it nearly costs Theodosia her life!

There are suspects a-plenty, and there are twists and turns, and an ending that is quite unexpected!

I'm now reading "Dragonwell Dead." I still have ten volumes to go, then I'll take a break and read Charlaine Harris' "Sleep Like a Baby" (the last Aurora Teagarden mystery) and 3-4 Mary Stewarts before diving into the Mrs. Murphy series. AND a friend in England just emailed me that she had dispatched a box full of cozy mysteries to me! We share very similar tastes in reading, so I know I'll enjoy them all!

I bought a new book from the BookBub recommendations. Called "Weapons of Choice". It is like The Final Countdown, except the technology is about 40 years newer (2021 instead of 1981 tech) and it is the Battle of Midway. Cost 99 cents.

It is a good book. However Prime is streaming the first season of Good Omens. Yes, it is finally here! Too bad Sir Terry didn't live to see it. And because of his death, Neil Gaiman wrote it all. It sticks closely to the book, so far.

I'm reading Pop Goes the Weasel by M.J. Arlidge, the second book of the Detective Helen Grace series. So far so good, but I would like to read the first one as well.

Worked my way through "Dragonwell Dead" AND "The Silver Needle Murder" and am taking a break from my beloved cozy mysteries to read "Venetia" by Georgette Heyer, for my reading group!

DRAGONWELL DEAD

"The Indigo Tea Shop has been tapped to cater a very prestigious affair! A joint endeavor between the Heritage society and the local orchid enthusiasts may well be the event of the season... but murder gets in the way, and once again, Theodosia is in the thick of it! When Mark Congdon wins the bid for a rare orchid and promptly dies almost at her feet, Theodosia knows that she must get to the bottom of this...even if it costs her everything, including her own life!

Look, I am thoroughly enjoying this series, I'm learning a ton of interesting things about tea, finding delicious recipes to try, and rarely knowing whodunit until the very end...but if I moved to Charleston and met Theodosia, I'd stay as far away from her as I could! She tends to have people dropping dead literally at her feet! Not enough to find a body, this gal has them dropping out nowhere, sometimes almost on her head!"

THE SILVER NEEDLE MURDER

"When the Charleston Heritage Society hosts the very first Charleston Film Festival, Theodosia and her Indigo Tea Shop employees are in the thick of the action. Between catering and judging, Theodosia barely has time to draw a breath...but that's more than the dead bodies are managing! Who on earth is killing off participants, and why? And will Theodosia, herself, be next? OH, and about that alligator...

Finished reading compendium 3 to get ready for compendium 4 of the Walking Dead. Wow, so good and so intense! I stopped watching the show a while ago because the story progresses much slower. Highly recommend the comic! Compendium 1 and 2 are $20 each and totally worth it because of the ton of content in each.

I just finished "Venetia" by Georgette Heyer, taking a short break from The Tea Shop mysteries, and am about to start "Oolong Dead."

As much as I am enjoying this series, I've decided that if I ever go to Charleston, I am NOT attending any galas! Bodies keep showing up!

I'm reading the DI Helen Grace series by M.J. Arlidge. I started with Pop Goes the Weasel, the 2nd book, and I am know reading the 1st, Eeeny Meeny. This person can spin a yarn. The books are so fast-paced and exciting.

Or to Crozet, Virginia for me, too.

it is nice to be able to just drop a book and pick up another on an e-reader. I have about 400 on my Kindle. It has a 128GB micro card in it to facilitate this.
I love my e-reader. I don't have any permanent books though, as the library ones expire. But I never read a book a second time, so it's not an issue for me.

I'm still reading the DI Helen Grace series. I read the second book first, so I'm now reading the first one. I have it on my tablet from the library and I also got the hard copies of most of the series.

I just got Matriarch, a biography on Barbara Bush. I'll have to read it quickly because there are holds on it.

OK...so there's a new mystery series out that I may have to read...it has been getting some really good reviews.

Obama and Biden team up to solve mysteries, in this one, the death of a train conductor! When I manage to get my paws on it, I'll let you know if it lives up to the hype.

Sounds ... interesting, maybe. :headscratch:

My library has no ebooks. I am the only one asking, I gather.
That's too bad. :(

I just got accepted back to school for social work and was able to get my intro textbook on my Nook (intro to social work is the only prereq I need, so the department grandfathered me into the upper level courses along with that course. Trouble is, my Ravenclaw streak is panicking, so I bought the textbook this weekend). I'm so used to reading a lot of graduate level stuff for assignments, and work, particularly Clifford Geertz, that I'm really surprised at how basic and simple this textbook is.

It is definitely convenient, but I may be getting a paper version of the textbook, too. A lot of professors have no technology policies now, and I find it really hard to read on my tablet (for one, the back lighting tends to trigger migraines even with a light filter).
