Right side, left side, front, back
Yes. :)

Growing up, I always slept on my stomach. At some point, that began to hurt my lower back, so I started to sleep on my right side. After a few years, I developed arthritis in that hip, so I switched to my left side. Now that hurts if I sleep on it for too long, so I’ll turn over to my back. I don’t sleep soundly on my back, so at some point, I’ll move to some other position in my sleep. The discomfort wakes me up, and I’ll start all over again rotating among positions. It’s better now that I have a foam mattress topper and a foam pillow with neck support, but it still makes for a restless night. These are the kinds of things your parents never tell you about growing older, at least mine didn’t. :(

All of this constant turning also annoys the h*** out of the cats who retaliate by traipsing back and forth across me whenever I disturb them—being careful to aim for my bladder so I have to get up and pee.

Demi did that to me the other night. He kneaded up and down so hard that I had to get up to use the bathroom! I wouldn't mind if he just laid on top of me, but it hurts when he's kneading and his feet hit different bones. :headshake:

It's complicated. I start out flat on my back with Mollipop wrapped in my left arm and Muffin in my right arm. At some point, I'll roll over on my right side; Molli will stay with me and settle down between Rick and me. Tabby is usually between Rick and me, too, but further down on the bed. Muffin will go to my side at the foot of the bed.

During the night, Mollipop will move up to my bottom pillow and hang out there for the rest of the night and I'll roll over to my right side. That's Muffin's cue to come up to me. She'll paw at me so I get awake. I'll move the bed covers down, so she can get under them, then pull them back up around her. She'll come over, so she's tightly against me with both front paws under my neck. And we'll fall back asleep. And she'll be there for quite a while.

But I think she gets too warm (although in the winter, she'll stay there the rest of the night) and she'll move back down to the foot of the bed. I roll back over to my left side, throw my right arm over Rick and snuggle up. That's how we usually awaken.

So I think I'm moving around all night!

If I go to bed early, I actually sleep better. I've gone to bed and to asleep as early as 8:00 at night (the cats usually have me awake around 3 or 3:30, so I'm always really tired). If I'm alone, I'll sleep like a rock. Rick says he sometimes checks on me, just to make sure I'm still breathing because I'm that far our of it. One night, he came back around 8:00 and I was already out. He came back around 8:30 and I hadn't moved an inch. He came back at 9:30 and I still hadn't moved. He woke me up, just to make sure I was OK! So, when I get the chance, I really sleep.
