My favorites are Boston Cream and plain glazed. I don't have a particular place that I go to for them. Sometimes I'll get them at the grocery store when they have them available and other times I'll pick them up from a small independent bakery since it's close to my house.

Good morning! :wave3: And Happy Friday! :yess:

Today is National Doughnut Day. DD is offering a free donut with a purchase of coffee.

What is your favorite doughnut flavor? Do you like sprinkles or frosting? Where do you usually buy your doughnuts? Do you make doughnuts?

When we go to DD (Dunkin), I like their sourdough glazed or sourdough powdered. I also like peanut butter filled. But really, I like pretty much all doughnuts.

We make yeast doughnuts usually once a year, in the spring, for Fastnacht Day or Shrove Tuesday. My doughnuts, though, are made either the weekend before or the weekend after. I didn't get any made this year and Rick's mother is still asking me about doughnuts. She keeps saying "Doughnuts taste good any time!" and she's right. :yummy:

How about you? Do you like doughnuts?
Sorry, I don't buy, eat, or like donuts.

Asking me if I like donuts is like asking me is the sky blue,

Krispy Creme glazed are my fave, the jelly and strawberry frosted with sprinkled from Dunkin, and there is a local bakery, Anne's Pastries that makes the best peanut butter creme sticks (French Silk pie)
The peanut butter creme sticks sound really good.

There is a doughnut shop near my mother-in-law's house (over an hour away) that makes the best doughnuts I have ever eaten. They make cream filled ones and chocolate iced raised doughnuts that are my favorite. I even like their cake doughnuts. I have not had the in years.

Boston Creme is also my favorite. But, any doughnut with a chocolate frosting is fine by me. Of course, I consider chocolate to be a food group that should be included in the food pyramid.

We have a Krispy Kreme store about 4 miles from our house and a Dunkin Donuts about 8 miles from our house.:yess:

All I can say is this thread brings back memories of when I ate them. My favorite was the lemon filled ones from anywhere. Now I am not sure there is any such thing as a gluten free one, so I don't eat donuts anymore.

My favorite is a still warm glazed yeast donut. I like just about any of the traditional donuts though. There are some of the over the top ones that I don't care for like the Elvis loaded down with peanut butter, bacon, and banana slices.

First, is it doughnut, or donut?
I'm not a huge fan either, they're not bad but they just lack the wow factor they used to for me. I'd prefer a cake doughnut/donut to a raised, yeast one though (tho?)
