Two of the carbon monoxide detectors started their “time to replace me “ beeping this week. The positive? They started during the day and not in the middle of the night like they usually do.

There was a fire in a 6-unit apartment building in town this morning. One woman is in the hospital due to smoke inhalation. The fire fighters caught her two cats and brought them to the shelter for safekeeping till she's able to go home.

One apartment is unlivable, but there were no other injuries, fortunately.
So glad there were no serious injuries. It's good they were able to catch the cats and bring them to your shelter till the woman can come home.

I hate it when that happens :cringe: Mine are hardwired so even if I take out the battery and replace it, if the unit is faulty or past its expiration date it will continue to beep :cringe:

Do I have a positive? Um, well it was a sunny warm day and the weather will continue this weekend:sunshine: Finally an entire weekend of sun and warmth :yess:

So many events going on in the city, why do they all have to happen on the same weekend? :dunno: Planning to go to one of the art fairs since the sun is out and temps will be in the high 70's. Rain predicted for tomorrow so I want to be outdoors and enjoy the sights and scenery today.

Metal detecting at the lake this morning. We have had a few day stretch of temps in the 80’s so the water was warm and I could wade into chest high warer. Had to wear a head net though to keep the gnats away and didn’t find much but just a beautiful morning anyway.

DH wanted me to go with him to an estate sale today. I wasn't too excited at first because I had a lot to do but went along to keep him company. It turned out to be in a lovely, picturesque wooded area with a steam by the house. I found a book that reminded me of my brother-in-law who recently passed away and asked about the price. To my surprise the homeowner said I could have it for free because I was wearing a "cat rescue" tee shirt. :jive:

These four Rosellas really cracked me up.. my birdbaths hadn't been filled and were a bit iffy.. very rare for me to allow them to get to that stage. These four sat on the side of one, moving their heads quizzically from side to side and peering in, before all flying up to the branch in disgust.
Needless to say all birdbaths are now spotlessly filled.

It's not a great photo as it's taken through a window that could also do with a good clean.

I love the birdlife in my garden.. they uplift the spirits. :heartshape:

My Vincie girl has not been feeling well since last Wednesday. She was on the deck, while I was in the shower and Hannah was cooking. It began to downpour. When it rains and she is out she usually sits under a chair because she likes a bit of rain. I looked for her after I was done showering and she was not on the deck. She was gone over an hour and we looked everywhere for her, since she is deaf I kept flashing the flashlight on and off, looking in all the bushes, neighbor's bushes, etc. I went back inside and she just appeared on the deck, soaked to her skin and crying, talking so loudly. She ran upstairs and stayed there for the next 18 hours. She would eat a bit, use the box, but would not come downstairs. She came down once on Thursday wanted out was on the deck for less than a minute then wanted back in. It was like this till Saturday morning. She is now back to herself but likes the bedroom the best. I think something happened while she got caught in the rain that frightened her.

I'm so happy she is back to herself. Because of her being 18 and 11 months old I worry about her. Yesterday she met Wendell, brother of Harvey, who she has a crush on. Ever since she met Harvey, she sleeps on their deck steps. I asked James and Melissa if they minded and they said it was fine.

Playing hooky from work today :yess::redtongue:No, I actually took the day off from work because there's a mandatory HVAC drain cleaning thing in every unit in my building today. I need to move stuff out of my closet so the person can access the HVAC unit in the closet ceiling. Plus I have my new window shades being installed today
