Is there a way to gently encourage my 8 month old cat to quit showing me his ‘brown eye’? I see it most when he is nursing his binkie on my chest/stomach/lap and when he gets on my chest with his but to his face, I just turn him sideways if he doesn’t move in a minute (the twerp walks all over me like I’m a jungle gym.) Sometimes when I pet him he shows me his but to. What am I supposed to do, praise him for keeping it clean?!?!?!? I’m way to familiar with how it looks, I think I could pick out a photo of his but hole in a line up!!! I have had many cats and this one tops it in the but in your face category. I’m not sure if part of the problem is because I’m the ‘mom’ who raised him?

I really just wanted to gripe a bit, but any ideas would be appreciated!

Because Willow always needs to be facing out so that she can make a run for it I always seem to have her fanny in my face. You can try gently pushing him into the loaf position or wrapping his tail around him. For as sensitive she is to almost everything, Willow doesn’t mind having her tail touched. Many nights I tuck it under my chin while I sleep which keeps her butt covered and me from being slapped in the face with her tail.

Some cats are just that way! At least you know you'll always be ahead of the game on identifying a problem 'brewing' back there!

The other thing is if he ever stops, you might just be raising his tail to make sure there isn't something bad going on!

If it's any consolation, Feeby always has her butt in my face, but she usually has her tail down - maybe from years of me pushing it down?!?!

Oh good, I just have to train him to sit or put his tail down ...... I will schedule that right next to not running over me and dropping a mouse by me as I try to sleep. ;) (Then taking the mouse, running over me again, then returning 5 minutes later to see if I want to play now.)

We have a cat who will plant his butt in your face no matter what you're doing. I don't know what it is with him, but he'll hop up, turn around, lay down on all fours then raise that little butt in the air and about 4 inches from your face.
My response is usually (sarcastically) saying "BEHOLD!", then moving him to my feet, where he's free to show off his pristine butt to my knees down.

 He's 8 months old - you're going to have to pick and choose which thing is most important for you to train him to stop doing first!

Many years from now you might be wishing for these 'good old days'! :rolleyes2:

Sleep, sleep is what I pick! I felt so bad for having to lock him out for a couple of hours last night! He just wouldn’t stop bugging me right as I was trying to fall asleep. (I went to bed early and I think he thought it was playtime still.) When I woke up to pee due to my hamster bladder, I let him back in and he went right to his bed and fell asleep after some reassuring cuddles. (He has a bed with a binkie next to my pillows. Yes he is spoiled but I love him .... stinky end and all.)

Cats are proud of their bung holes and like to show them off. It's just the nature of the beastie ... :D

Doesn't it mean they are happy, when their tail is straight up and you can see their butt hole?

:flail: twinkle tush :flail:that cat in the twinkle tush video is extremely patient. My hyper jokester of a teen would start chasing his long tail and then rip that rubber band off and carry his prize off to hide/kill somewhere! ;)

This thread from experienced cat-slaves is making me laugh so hard!!!
I'm always like "ok, dude, thank you, love you too....now can you just please lie down?"
And when you try to gently push the butt down it goes higher.
We've got one who will keep his front end down and raise his butt so high he'll fall over. To quote Mr. Hill......"that boy ain't right" :flail:
