My Newly Adopted 19 Year Old: Hobie's Progression Pictures!

Hey guys,

I'm sorry I don't contribute much anymore ( I do read weekly on here! ), I've been crazy busy these past few months\year, but hopefully I'll be posting at least weekly again soon.


I've had Hobie, my 19.11 year old Maine Coon, for almost 1 month now. He has gained 3 lbs and some change. He eats 3-5 cans a day, 1\4 cup of dry food at night that he some times doesn't eat all of, and a tablespoon of his calorie supplement.

And, just to remember my sweet Angel, here is her progression photos I found. I miss my baby girl a lot still, but Hobie has been a joy to work on. Angel on October 17, 2015 and on November 15, 2015.



Not broken, just refurbished.

I agree on both counts. He knows he is finally home where he belongs. Taking him in and giving him such wonderful love and care is a wonderful way to pay tribute to Angel. I have no doubt that she's watching over the both of you with lots of love and pride.

It must be such a thrill for you to see the big improvement in Hobie's health as the days pass, and I'm sure Hobie is very pleased with all of the changes.

You are the angel now for helping that old gentleman cat have a wonderful forever home! Senior cats are such a blessing to have around the house. They give so much...and ask for very little in return.

Hello again Hobie. However old a MC gets, they still remain proud and regal. I love him and it's something I would have done. He's lovely.

Hello, Hobie and oldgloryrags88 -- I don't think we've talked before, but your pix touch my heart! We adopted our sweet Mainey man Sammi when he was 14 and he was with us until he ascended age 21. The furmily now are 15 going on 16, 14 going on 15, and 11 going on 12. Longevity with excellent quality of life and lots of love is something I've always strived for. There have been several "pointers" in the furmily, all of whom are up there watching and waiting -- Tomo, chocolate point siamese, his lady Kinoko, Balinese or Himalayan mix, blue or lilac point, Tashi, seal point Birman type, and Sishya, snowshoe.
"Rescued" has always been my favorite "breed" and all cats are loved by me.
Your Angel was a beauty! and Hobie is a gorgeous little Lion Kinglet! *SNORGLES* to him from me.

This is so precious! He is a grand old man.

You know, there's no cat like a Senior cat! Hobie has flourished with the TLC you have given him and in return has comforted you on the loss of Angel.

He's beautiful! With that long neck fur he looks like a little lion.

Thank you for adopting him. You are his hero.
We need more people like you, a hero without needing a cape.
