I’m not allergic to anything, but my mom was allergic to bananas and cantaloupe. I had the worst time trying to get the dining room at her assisted living facility not to give her fruit cups that had those two fruits mixed in.

I'm going through allergy testing right now. I'm allergic to dairy but also have bad seasonal allergies and possibly allergies to perfumes and chemicals. I'll know more in a month or so after all the testing is done:) .

Am I one of those liars? I have been told that some of my post are bizarre but I don't lie. I don't think any one here as a liar.
I'm sure he meant in real life "here", not here at TCS. Your posts are not bizarre, I enjoy them! :hugs:

foods like apple fritters and hot dog buns (don't ask. IDK.)
I think there's a chemical in processed flour products that a lot of people react to. Or maybe it's the high-fructose corn syrup, which has a a rather violent effect on my mom's digestive system, and that's probably not rare either.

I have some general environmental allergies, and take a Zyrtec every night. I've never been diagnosed so I don't know what, specifically, is the problem.

I once got full-body hives, but I don't know what caused it. I did so many things that day that there's no way to pin it down. It hasn't happened since.

I get a bit of a rash if I wear a bandaid for too long, or get mango juice on my skin and don't wash it off within a couple minutes, so I probably have a mild latex allergy. I've never had a reaction to gloves or other latex products though.

It hasn't been officially diagnosed as an allergy, but I always say deet when forms ask for allergies, because it really bothered me when my mom sprayed it on me once as a child, and I can't even be around it when other people put on bug spray with it because I don't like how it makes me feel.

What I don't put on forms is that a few years ago I had an allergic reaction to a pair of tights. idek, like I was walking a Thanksgiving 5k and I put on a new pair of tights, then leggings, then sweats, because it was pretty cold, and I kept getting itchier and itchier as the walk went on and when I got home I had hives all over my thighs (fortunately, there was benedryl cream easily available).

I did get a rash the last time I was on amoxicillin this past February, which I don't believe has ever happened before so idk. I did tell my doctor, even though it didn't itch or anything.

That's my weird body, I guess.
Sounds like you had a reaction to the polyester/nylon in the tights. I can't wear those either or all I do is itch and scratch. Don't like anything tight against my skin-makes me itch like crazy. I have trouble with acrylic in socks. It makes me itch and my foot slides around-I have to make sure that the nylon/acrylic content of socks is super low otherwise my feet turn red from itching. Growing up all I wore were cotton socks-now it's impossible to find decent cotton socks so now I wear merino wool.

I am allergic to short hair cats, long hair doesn't bother me as much as their dander isn't as exposed. I have had allergy tests done as a teen and used to give myself shots. I ended up being extremely allergic to horses and cockroaches. Grasses came in second then tree pollen. Dust.. And of course molds/mildews-rainy days make me feel yucky. Hay Fever in the spring/summer is a norm for me. The mornings are usually the worst.

I take Sudafed and Claritin to keep it at bay. In high school I took a horticulture class of floral arrangement and my allergies kicked into high gear. I didn't care though and just mustered through it-it was a double period class and I learned alot about flowers then.

M maggiedemi foxxycat foxxycat - not wool. What I assume happened was that there was some kind of chemical on them, as I hadn't washed them yet and grabbed them quickly when I realized how cold it was that morning and mixed with me sweating that caused the itch and hives. I've been too leery to wear tights since, but leggings under dresses is better for modesty than tights anyway and it's not a big deal.

Oops! I forgot "lactose". Bigtime. Even the pills don't help. I might eat an ice cream once every few years and know I'm going to suffer afterwards. Or some cheese. I like them, but they do NOT like me.
And yeah, M maggiedemi and foxxycat foxxycat -- some of the dyes they use in clothes can be pretty nasty. I've read a few articles on this and don't dwell on it, but I'm not surprised when someone has a reaction to them. A lot of clothes have instructions on the care tag recommending washing the item before wearing. I can see why!

Not at all! By "here" I meant my wife and I, here at our house, in general over all. We've had some liars here in the house and that didn't turn out well at all.
I don't think your posts are bizarre and I certainly don't think you or anyone else here on TCS is a liar.

Like I said I am paranoid and thought you were talking about me because of some of my bizarre post. I don't believe there are any liars in this forum. I am sorry you had them at your house.

My main ones are steroids (in any form) and bananas.
My medical file says the reactions for steroids is 'anaphylaxis' and yet the doctor keeps trying to give me a steroid shot for my knee and shoulder. Go figure.

I'm only allergic to face paint, that I know of, though I have been experiencing hayfever this year which I've never really had before (but there's been an unusually high amount of pollen here in the UK this year so I'm sure it's not just me!).

I go into anaphylactic shock with acetaminophen/anything containing it, kashmir64 kashmir64 and it's scary! I had a GP prescribe Vicodin for me for pain once. Took one, had the reaction, called him up and yelled at him. Even my *at that time* paperback pharmacopia listed acetaminophen as being an ingredient of Vicodin! He insisted it didn't have that. I told him to look it up. *Idiot!!! Could have killed me!* I tell doctors first thing to flag my file for this. That SHOULD make them stop before they "try to give" you something you're allergic to. But still, we have to be our own health care because these allopathic (symptom-based, western protocols) practitioners spend 15 minutes on you if you're lucky, don't know you, probably see you as a $$$ rather than a person, and are not at all to be trusted IMHO.
