I was watching the news..a report from MA. Some guy left his back door unlocked and an intruder came in while he was away at work. Didn't rob him...cleaned his house from top to bottom. Even straightened his five year old son's room.

Why can't that happen to me? I want this intruder.

AHH! Yes, I saw this too. They even took the toilet paper and made a rose and left it on top of the roll.

My mom said, "Maybe it was an ex-girlfriend..." I can't imagine breaking into my ex's house just to clean it though.

Sometimes cleaning ladies will clean homes when the owners aren't there.

That's assuming the cleaning person has key to the home or otherwise has instructions on how to enter the home if no one is there. In the MA case, the homeowner was not using a cleaning service so there is no reason for a cleaning service to have enter the home. So far, no cleaning service company or independent cleaning person has come forward to admit that they cleaned the person's home.

When my kitten was brought to me almost 3 weeks ago I reached out to a few rescues. Because, I was NOT keeping him. Obviously, I am now! Anyway, two rescues said they were at capacity and had no room, one told me to take him to animal control, and one tried to find a foster. After, talking with that rescue they really helped me decide that I wanted him. They were thrilled that he would have a good home with me so that they could save other kitties. Well, I heard back from another rescue today, I hadn’t heard anything from them since I sent the plea out. They were really mad that I decided to keep him. They have been blasting me on Facebook messenger. I can’t even imagine how stressful rescue can be but that just really upset me. Anyway, that’s what’s on my mind today. I know I should have gotten back with them but to be honest I have just been loving on my little boy and forgot.

That's the part that puzzles me about rescues. I understand they work hard to make a difference and don't have time for whatever but there is no need to be mad at someone and put them down. There is no room for it. They should have been happy for you. You get to give him a warm loving family and they have room for more kittens who need help and don't have a family that wants them.

I wonder if a cleaning lady cleaned the wrong house.
That's what I'm assuming, except he says the kitchen wasn't cleaned. Unless maybe cleaning services do the kitchen last and the cleaner realized they were in the wrong house before getting to the kitchen. The only other option I can think of is that a friend/acquaintance wanted to give him a gift and a nice mystery to wonder about, lol.

There's only one rescue here. It's kitten season so they're at capacity. The local humane society shelter isn't no kill.
People have been leaving food and water for him. Someone called the number on the collar a dozen times and left messages - no answer, no call back.
I wish we could take him in, but we can't. John can't leave food for him because his boss is a witch but he's under strict orders to let me know if the bowl that random people have been filling is ever empty because I'll go fill it. His boss can't do anything to him for something I did.

Another day of severe storms predicted...... When does it end? Ohio on Monday, Kansas yesterday, plus all the ones before that. I hate being alone here when the severe weather siren goes off with its creepy wailing. I have no basement so if a tornado arrives I guess I'll place myself between the bathroom cupboard and the washer and dryer (downstairs bathroom is a laundry room as well).

Oh no! I hope you stay safe. That's one good thing about NY, not many natural disasters. And no poisonous snakes or spiders, sharks, gators, or crocs. The winters are brutal here though.

This is where I saw it, not really instructions, but you see where she started.

Cat Owner Makes A Cardboard Iron Throne For Her Maine Coon Cat, And The Lord Of The House Loves It

They're selling them on etsy for over 200 bucks, and not nearly as good...but not cardboard, either, I imagine.
Thanks. That's definitely a good starting point.

Here's a pre-made cardboard one on eBay. Would probably last longer if you painted or laquered it.

And thanks to you as well, though I don't think I want it badly enough to spend money on it. (And I'm sure the cats don't. :catman:)

Oh! I'm so angry, I could spit!
So, there's a cat that hangs around where John works. He has a collar that says something about, "I'm not lost and I have a home." Ok, whatever. Well, I guess someone went to take him home the other day (they knew where his owners lived) and was told the people had moved! They moved and just left the poor little kitty behind. What makes it worse, in my mind, is they left the collar on him so anyone who found him would think he was being taken care of! OMG, I can't stand people who just abandon animals! I wish we could take him in, but we already have more cats than we're allowed. The only shelter we have is not a no-kill shelter and it's so difficult to find a home for an adult cat - especially this time of year. It's kitten season. I don't know what to do!
That's horrendous! It's also illegal, in many places (including where I live), as it darn well should be!

Well I'm certainly glad you didn't take him to a shelter that publicly vilifies people who adopt without first getting their permission! That's one of the most irresponsible things I can think of for a shelter to do.
