Anyone else feel my pain or have suggestions? It's that time of year when I go extra crazy. No matter what I do she gets squinty, watery eyes and coughs. I'm even experiencing allergies and I don't usually get them. I leave my clothes at the door when I come in from outside and take a shower immediately. I have four air purifiers... what the heck is going on???

I thought my cat had allergies until I took her to the vet. The day of the appointment my other cat also started sneezing. Turns out they had colds.

Many times asthma is actually the result of an allergic reaction to things like pollen, molds, and dust. So, the allergic reaction you are seeing might be due to these types of things triggering an elevation in the asthma. And, a humidifier should help!

Is your cat on any medications like an inhaler? It might be something you want to talk to the vet about if not. At least one that you could use during these bouts.

She’s on prednisolone and the inhaler. 4 air purifiers and a humidifier and nothing helps.

Yep...it's that time of year, unfortunately. Emerson has good days where he sneezes maybe once or twice the entire day and he has bad days where he sneezes several times an hour.

I second the humidifier suggestion. Also don't open any windows that would allow more pollen/spores/whatever to get inside.

I'm trying a humidifier, actually. I read the ac might be drying out the air.

How long have you had the humidifier? I don't really know anything about them, but I am guessing it will take a while to see a noticeable difference in the air moisture - especially if you only have one unit that is humidifying just one room.

Hoping you did have the windows open, just so when you shut them you will see an improvement in your baby!

Wish we could help more, and also wishing for allergy season to soon diminish for you!

My vet prescribed my cat Flovent for his Allergies/Athma and it's really helped. I usually get the prescription filled around time time of the year and I don't have to give it year round since his allergies are usually worse in spring/summer. My pharmacist said that it's a pretty common medication that's used for cats and it's really improved his breathing.

If she has asthma, the humidity may bother her asthma more. Is she on a daily antihistamine? My asthma kitties get a daily dose of antihistamine.
