so I notice some people are cat lovers.. some dog lovers.. some prefer reptiles and fish and amphibians.. some people have animal-specific preferences.. my grandma loves cats but can’t stand dogs. My husbands grandma is an over-the-top dog-enthusiast. I love it! But they just can’t expand that general care to other species.

I’m an animal lover. I can’t stand most humans, but when I look into the eyes of any other animal.. I see something. My heart wants to love and provide.

Are you an animal Lover?
Or if you’re species-specific.. why?

I have cats, dogs, ferrets, snakes and fish right now but also have had lizards and rodents. Birds are a little messy and loud for my tastes, bugs creep me out a bit but I can appreciate living critters in general.

All the animals!!!

I've had ferrets, rabbits, tortoises, salamanders, mice, and a large fish tank in the past. Right now I only have cats, dogs, a hamster, 4 snakes, and 2 betta fish in small tanks.

We've shared our home with many different animal species over the years so, most definitely, I'm an animal lover. A very wise vet once told me years ago that she thought anyone who didn't like animals had something seriously wrong with them. I'm sure she didn't word it exactly like that but you get the message.

I love most animals. However, I refuse to go into the home of anyone who owns a tarantula. Nothing personal, but I don't want to be in an area where I could potentially hear someone say, "The tarantula got loose."

I'm an animal lover, over the years I've had, fish, birds, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, chinchillas, gerbils, rabbits, a horse, cats, and dogs. I even like bugs and spiders, but my family, not so much, lol. I also always wanted reptiles, but things never worked out for that, and likely never will since I now live in the middle of nowhere in the frozen north. I currently have 10 cats, 3 dogs, and 2 chinchillas.

Heh. I know someone who won't come into my house because of the snakes. Idk what she thinks they'd do if they got loose.

I thought about a tarantula but one of my best friends is severely arachnophobic, and even though she doesn't live here anymore, just the thought would give her the weebies, and I don't want one that badly.

I've had lots of different species of animals since I was younger which has shaped the way I feel about certain types of animals.

My favorites (in order), cats (I feel like a cat spiritually so I connect with them the most), rats (very underestimated pets), and dogs. I also love reptiles and creepy-crawlies. For example, bearded dragons, snakes, spiders, ants, etc.

I pretty much love most animals. Especially cats, dogs and turtles. I don't care for reptiles or insects. when I was a kid we had 9 dogs and 2 cats. I love animals because they love you and don't make you cry.

Cats are #1 and always will be. I also love rabbits, squirrels, hamsters and guinea pigs. I also love raccoons. If only they were as sweet as they are cute. :ohwell:
That reminds me of that tame squirrel that used to come around every summer for years. I named her Juniper and she'd even let me pet her.

I also love squirrels, raccoons and opossums. I spend a fortune feeding them nuts, muffins and cat food.

Same here. I started feeding squirrels when I was a kid. I would buy big bags of peanuts in the shell and put them in aluminum roasting pans and put them in the yard. When I didn't have peanuts, I would take a big loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter and make sandwiches. I cut them in quarters and put them in the crooks of the trees. They were so happy to have food in the winter.

I’m just an animal lover. I always thought I was a cat person until I adopted my dog Molly. She’s a chiweenie that I adopted for my local humane society when she was 10 weeks old. She’s now 8 going on 98, lol. She super lazy and just content to lay on the couch and nap. I’m definitely a cat/dog person now.

I love ALL animals and creatures, although I do get annoyed at some peoples dogs, but of course, that's the humans fault!
The only "animals" that I despise and will kill if they get close to me are mosquitoes, wasps and hornets. I will not kill bees though, they are not aggressive like the aforementioned (I've never come across killer bees before).
