No. She came out from under the bookcase having skipped a couple meals and offered up a water barf. I want to get some luxolite (bentonite clay) in her to soothe her insides and settle her stomach. But she’s understandably not interested in food right now. At least she drank some more water. Hopefully not too much this time. I’ll let her have another shift or so to see if she’ll eat the 1/4 portion with the clay I left out for her. Otherwise I’ll get her some tuna with the clay later. I’ll also see about pedialyte or other electrolyte replacement when the pet supply stores open. I’m not sure this has risen to a vet visit when a vet visit would be a drop-off and the Dr will have to sedate her to do anything. I’d rather give her the chance to work it out at home before I put her through sedation again so soon after the last time.

Either I finally got my B12 technique right where she doesn’t notice it.
:clapcat:
Or she’s got a b12 puddle on her neck that I somehow missed.
:whiskers:
Still no interest in food. No worries. She can have the day to rest and we can try again at dinner.

We have a turkey grudge and maybe not enough interest in rabbit. She took a couple bites of the rabbit with the clay in it. (Which is more than all the turkey she’s eaten since her failed redo portion last night.) Then she drank some more water. Poor dehydrated girl. But this is encouraging. After a couple of bites and a few sips, she went up to her Katris perch instead of back to hiding. Maybe I just pick up the turkey plate. Leave her the rabbit plate. And go out and get myself a plate. Let her have her rest day and we can retry with rabbit in the evening.

You need to eat too. :-) Poor little girl. I love her little sideways grin there. Like she knowssssss you are watching her and it like MUAHAHAHAHAH.

How is the Katris holding up? Considering it over here but not sure how it will wear with the kitties.

That's a trick of the light. Certainly not grinning. Usually her nose pointing down like that is nausea or indigestion or working through something.

She doesn't claw at the Katris so it's holding up really well. I want to build her another perch like that for the other side and use the hollow insides of the shapes for a shoe rack. And if that doesn't pan out, I know I could put those shapes just about anywhere else and she'll take right to them. I wish they were cheaper. She'd have an entire playground!

I know what you mean. So far anything I like that would be functional / Nice for both kitties and I are not cheap.

I swear put cat, pet, dog or child in front of any object and the price goes up.

She’s showing encouraging signs. She came out of hiding and wanted to sit in my lap. She even rested there for awhile after I stopped scritches because something shiny on my phone. Buzzfeed cat posts.

Then I saw this picture and lost it. (Disclaimer: Not my cat)

Poor guy ate a wasp.

But I couldn’t stop laughing and Krista took her leave of my lap.

She’s nibbled a little but is mostly just napping off her day up in her tree. Not under the bookcase. :yess:

Bonus picture (not my cat either)

She’s nibbling. A couple bites off a plate of any offered food. But I’ve certainly seen this before. She restarts slowly. Probably in another hour or two, she will sample from one or both plates (turkey on one plate, rabbit w/ salmon oil on the other) once she gets confirmation that food will stay down. I did get her to eat a few bites of tuna with a little bit of pedialyte. But she’s also drinking plenty of water. I think she’ll be alright once she starts trusting food again for more than a nibble. I expect her to come around about 2 or 3 am.

She ate a quarter ounce of rabbit. Encouraging but not hardly enough. But she hasn’t rabbit in at least a couple weeks before her vet visit the other weekend. So I guess it’s okay if she wants to take it slow.

I'm glad she's eating, even if slowly but surely. Poor thing.
1/4 ounce is 1/6 portion. She needs to do better. I almost feel like sticking her in the carrier, driving her down to the vet to scare her back into eating (without the actual vet visit that would likely entail pooping herself, going feral on the staff, and getting sedated likely just for fluids.) She started eating like she never wanted another vet visit after last time.

I feel so frustrated for her. She was nearly back to eating again. Half portion. But more than before. But then two hours later, she gave it back. I don’t know if there will be a turkey grudge. But I also don’t know that she’s done barfing tonight. :(

Whenever she barfs, if I put a fresh bowl of water down for her, she’ll drink from it. So I put a couple cap-fulls (a few tbsp?) of unflavored pedialyte in that bowl. I have no idea if that’s enough. But some is better than none.

A couple hours later she shows up next to me in the earliest stages of her feed me song and dance. She’s nothing if not persistent. I plated half an ounce this time. She ate about half that. So we’re back where we were—1/6 of what she should be eating. I also put a little extra water and a small amount of clay in that portion to help soothe her tummy and gut. At least she’s not holding a grudge against turkey. If we can just stabilize her gut (and eventually her butt when her pooper restarts), I can work on getting her portions back up.

She’s got an ear shake. It’s not an audible rattle yet. I did give her a few bites of tuna yesterday to try to disguise some pedialyte before I realized I needed to give her more than I was going to sneak into tuna. So now she might be having a tuna reaction that may turn into an ear rattle and would also explain the barf tonight. I’m glad I didn’t offer anymore tuna since then. And I’m sorry that she’ll just need to ride this out for a couple more days. :(

“How am I supposed to get up and feed you when you’re sitting on my chest?”

She kept down the redo and eventually went back for more after getting her fill of scratches and gentle massage around the shoulders. I can’t touch her head without setting off an ear shake. I’ll let her work that out. Unless her ear starts rattling.

I put down another half ounce which she has eaten about 2/3 of it. That’s cool. Eat what you can, willingly, and keep it down, and we’ll work on amounts as we get the routine back in order.

That was like my cats meowing at the security door to the back yard, they used to meow really demandingly like hurry up and feed me, but they would push their bodies on the security door, so every morning i have to try and open the door little by little and i would always say, move buddy let me out so i can feed you, move your toosh and finnaly for 3 minutes they move and i can get out to feed them lol.

Krista will sit on me when she’s hungry. But she’ll still take her fill while she’s there. “Yes I’m hungry but love on me first!”

So demanding!
