OH no, the cats took off. I cleaned up the area so Mom wouldn't see and they walked off, turned around looked at me, hissed and left. I'm so sad and my heart is breaking in two. I was just cleaning the area, not putting things up or getting rid of. :(

I think a little bored, and they're also just checking in case there's something out for them  stay the course, you're doing great!

They might have heard or seen something other than you. I really doubt they were actually hissing at you.
Hang in there!!

They're still gone. Hopefully they don't think I"m booting them out. I worry about this now knowing the backstory of them coming from a hoarding situation and then being booted out when their human died.

That's a point, but on the other hand you don't have the same vibes those people did when they were doing that. :vibes::crossfingers:

Ok well Treasure is back wanting more pets. She knocked the cam over though and Mom is coming downstairs right now so once again had to close the door. Why can't I live a "normal" life? She always has a sad face when I close the door on her so Mom can't see. I'm not sure how healthy this is for the cats to constantly do this. I wish I had the money to just move but I don't. This just breaks my heart every time I close the door :(

I really need to find a better solution to this situation about Mom. And we have not had but 2 sunny days here since last July. Most has been cloudy or drizzly if not tornados or heavy rain. So this just goes on and on between jumping up and running outside every few minutes to keep Mom from finding out. I don't know if there is a solution to this. She can't take care of herself though.

Ugh now the Echo Dot went out. I at least use that to talk to them when I'm stuck inside because of Mom. What a mess this is.

Ugh Mom is still down here and the yowling outside continues. This is a horrible situation. I have experimented with google hangouts though and have one installed on my fire tablet and one on my iPad. That would be perfect to keep an eye on them and they can see me for when these tragedies inside the house happen. But I can't get outside at the moment to hook this up. What a horrible situation :(

Anyone know if carpenter bees sting cats? I just noticed some outside in the ONLY area I have for the cats to come to without Mom knowing. My heart is breaking in two over this latest situation.

I can walk through them without being stung but with cats we don't know if they'll try swatting at them. What can I do? Mom won't let me call an exterminator. I"m in tears over this.

Don't worry; the kitties know how to live around bees :). Also carpenter bees don't sting often.

Hmm, I've never had altered cats howl outside at 5 in the morning, unless there was a fight. I'd recommend something like a microchip feeder so they can eat when they want, but since you can't pet 2 of them yet I suppose that won't work. Otherwise, just stick to the schedule and they'll get used to it. It takes 3 weeks for someone to get used to a new schedule.

I may be able to get Treasure microchipped but since she and Shaman refuse to eat from separate bowls not sure how that would work with a microchipped feeder. Would Shaman be able to eat from the bowl at the same time Treasure is eating?

It can be a microchip on a collar tag too, doesn't have to be implanted. And, yes, the chip just opens the bowl; it doesn't snap shut if another cat sticks her head in. A lot of fat housecats have learned that while stealing from their skinny housemates ;).

Ok. well that could actually work? Because neither Shaman or Treasure will stick around if Shadow appears and by the time they leave and Shadow approaches the bowl it may close on her and she'd have no choice but to go to her own bowl (although not a microchipped bowl). I'll need to research that a bit more.

And I don't like collars, to be honest even the breakaway kind. If the collar is microchipped and it breaks off then I'm back to the same feeding dilemma. And being strays or outside (not sure if I can refer to Treasure as a stray anymore as she lets me pet her and she rubs against me now. But she is outside and goes into those bushes a lot to be with Shaman.

I was thinking of having them microchipped if I ever get all of them tame, although I still wish someone in the area would take Shadow. It's obvious that Shadow is never going to get along with the other cats. She needs to be an alpha cat and possibly the only cat in a household. Everytime I see her walking away she has her tail tucked between her legs. She tries to play with Shaman and Treasure when there isn't food but they run from her or chase her off. Except when it comes to food. Then Shadow dominates and gets to the bowl first. Every so often Treasure will be brave and eat nearby but Shaman goes running off. Too bad they can't tell us what happened because Shaman, Treasure and Shadow used to hang out together with no issues. But food wasn't an issue at that time either as this was before I started feeding.

Also why is Treasure sitting there whining all day? Is this a sign something happened? Or is she just bored. I haven't seen Shaman with her since this morning and now I'm scared. Like I always say Shaman and Treasure are usually always together so seeing Treasure hanging around whining is scaring me that something bad happened.

Treasure is outside yowling to come in and most know my situation with my Mom. My heart is breaking. Why does my life have to be so complicated. Even the 2 way video doesn't help :(

I really hope this cardboard box doesn't collapse under them. I'm so sad about this. They could get hurt? Both Treasure and Shaman are there relaxing away from the rain at the moment and I hate to run them back into the bushes (changing things). But of course there's the issue with Mom and trying to do this without her knowing. Ugh this is horrible :(

Seriously? Why are they sitting here staring at the food bowl? They already ate good today. This feeding tragedy is driving me nuts. I know I sound like a broken record but I still feel I'm doing something wrong. They're even eating the best type of cat food I can get from Whole Foods and this still persists. I can't spend $50 a week on them because they're always hungry. :(

Cats are causing a disturbance. They come and yowl from 5 am to the time I come out at 7:30 am to feed them. Right now a person 2 doors up screamed in terror seeing Shadow. Ugh I wish I lived on a farm
