I am thinking of getting 2 new kittens preferably a Male & female. However am in dilemma now there are 2 x 2mth old Ragdoll mix kittens from same litter but are female. Very cute ladies. Is it possible to keep the peace between 2 ladies when they grow up?

The other option is to get 2mth female ragdoll kitten with a 6mth mix British Shorthair kitten. But the British sh is very skittish and runs to a corner. Will this kitten be a gd decision to take? Will his skittish behaviour change? All living in the same house of the breeder. 6mth still considered a kitten?

Littermates often get along well. Gender doesn't really affect their relationship as long as they're both spayed.

Don't you already have a young kitten? Are you looking at getting additional kittens as friends for your other kitten?

Where in the world are you located? Is there a better place for you to acquire kittens than these backyard breeders? 2 months is too young for a breeder to be selling kittens, and the breeder might not be socializing their kittens properly if the "mix British Shorthair" kitten is skittish at 6 months of age.

I just looked back at your previous threads. First of all, it is much more ethical to adopt kittens and cats from shelters and rescue organizations than to fund these backyard breeders. Second, the last kitten you acquired from a breeder had ear and fur mites, so I really hope that you're not getting these kittens from the same person, since they're clearly not taking proper care of their animals.

Why are you adopting more kittens?

My Birman mix has actually recovered and doing well. He is currently at my brother's place where my niece adore him. Below are his pictures. Am getting these pair for my own family. We cannot afford gd kittens from pet shops as they are selling g ar 3 or 4 times the price. Local shelters do not carry such kitten breed. Also cost between shelters and local breeders not much. This batch from different breeder and they are ok.

To add, this new breeder takes gd care. The 6mth kitten is skittish and she insists he is not comfortable with new people. I did manage to pick him up and cuddle. He is ok, did not scratch but can see he is nervous which I consider normal when he meets new person. Also even at his size he is gentle with the 2mth kitten.

Can you spend a fair amount of time with them? If so, I'd just go sit and play with them and see who I bonded with the most.

Of course, if you get a male/female pair you'll have to have them spayed/neutered right away (unless the breeder has already done it). With 2 females it wouldn't be quite as urgent, although you'd still want to get it done before they go into heat so you don't go doubly crazy .

Sisters usually get along well enough, I wouldn't choose based on that.

I was there for an hour. The females are 2 mths so apparently they have the dare devil attitudes. The older boy was more wary of another person in the house. Even though he let me carry and hold him, he sort of was happy to fo back to his corner to sit..
While the sisters were happy playing, I heard having 2 queens is not going to be easy....

If they're spayed it's not a big deal. My first cats were sisters and they were fine together. Introducing a new female to a resident female can be iffy, but since you'd get them at the same time it wouldn't apply.

Aren't you planning on spaying them?

I not sure which combi to take. If take 2 sisters I straight will head to vet for 1st vaccine and get them spayed at 5mths. If I get Male/female, then I will get the Male neutered as he right age and weight. But I need the friends here on the opinion if should I get the boy as he seems very skittish.

Sorry my location is in Singapore and mostly vets here prefer neutering at 5 to 6mths.

If you get a male and female, it's more critical to get the female spayed first if you can't do them at the same time. A male can continue to carry live sperm for up to 2 months after being neutered.

I can get them done just that the vets here do not prefer to do it at younger mths. But I see in in other countries they do it even for small kittens

I've had a number of cats and never had a problem with several females at a time.
