Actually, it's the shortest it's ever been. I'm afraid to go shorter because I have a lot of natural curl And I don't want a constant fro.
I lopped 27" off in late December, right up to the top of my shoulders, and I also have a LOT of natural curl...AND very fine, but thick, hair. Found a miracle worker of a stylist. All I do now is wash, towel dry, shake my head and go. Life is SWEET!

I cut my hair twice already. The first time, it was almost half way down my back (about a foot long). I buzzed it because the long hair was becoming a task. That was last May.

It grew back beautifully but I liked it short so I buzzed it again last year November. But then it started falling out in January so I've vowed to never put scissors to it again.

I learned that you take things for granted until you actually start losing it. My hair fall has slowed down but it's nowhere as dense as it was early last year.

I regret ever considering buzzing it. I'd take long unmanagable hair any day over having patches of hair missing and being bald.

I don't believe in horse racing. They are babies. The knees don't even close until they are three, and they are trained as yearlings and raced at two. Does anyone remember Go For Wand in 1990?
When I trained, I wouldn't even sit on a horse until they were three.
Personally, I believe racing a horse under the age of five is cruel and abusive.
I've heard that one of the reasons the Lipizzan horses live so much longer than others is that they're left strictly alone until they're at least 3 years old, so that they're mature enough before anyone tries to climb on their backs. I believe it.

I SAW A STRAY CAT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD! I wanted to stop the car and go pick him/her up but it was such a busy road. They were in a ditch just staring. No collar or anything. Not many houses near by either. UGH! I hope animal services got to them eventually.
Ouch! Did you call Animal Services to report it?

My late Grandfather's birthday is today. Wish we celebrated them better when he was alive. I miss him.
We always wish we'd celebrated people better after they pass, no matter how well we actually did so. It's part of the desire to change things; "If only I had done something different this wouldn't be so bad." Unfortunately, life doesn't work that way. No matter how good a job we do of letting our loved ones know how loved they are, it still hurts horribly when we lose them.

Loss and our helplessness in the face of loss are incredibly traumatic, so much so, in fact, that our subconscious minds would rather deal with guilt. So when there's no genuine guilt available we tend to make some up, as a relief from grief and helplessness. Unfortunately, all this actually does in the long run is to keep us from doing the hard work of grieving, which is the only thing that gets us through to the other side of grief.

This thread may be helpful. It focuses on grieving cats, because we all lose our furry purries so often, but it's really about all grieving, because grief is grief, no matter who it is that we've lost. Grieving

We got Aedan's hair cut, too.

You look beautiful and Aedan is so adorable. He definitely inherited mama's good looks. He's your mini me.
:yeah:

I'm letting my hair grow to donate to childrenwithhairloss.us. One of the stylists at the salon I go to sponsors it and sends the donated hair to the organization. My hair is 3" below shoulder length so I have at least 5" left to grow. It will probably be October before I get it cut and donated.

I bought some hair ties with attached scarves to wear when my hair gets long enough and the weather gets hot.

Margret Margret - If it were me driving, I would have stopped the car and taken that cat in against his will... Then he would probably just end up becoming a part of the family. My mom had no intentions of stopping however. And I totally forgot to call animal services. I'll check the website and see if they picked him up.

From your earlier description that sounds extremely dangerous. Much as we all love cats, it isn't worth your life, or the life of someone else on the road, to rescue one.

I never left mine completely alone. By the time they were weaned, they were halter broke, clipper broke, trailer broke and anything else I could think of without having anything heavy on their backs. At two, I would start to train with a surcingle and long lines in a round pen.

Oh! I'm so angry, I could spit!
So, there's a cat that hangs around where John works. He has a collar that says something about, "I'm not lost and I have a home." Ok, whatever. Well, I guess someone went to take him home the other day (they knew where his owners lived) and was told the people had moved! They moved and just left the poor little kitty behind. What makes it worse, in my mind, is they left the collar on him so anyone who found him would think he was being taken care of! OMG, I can't stand people who just abandon animals! I wish we could take him in, but we already have more cats than we're allowed. The only shelter we have is not a no-kill shelter and it's so difficult to find a home for an adult cat - especially this time of year. It's kitten season. I don't know what to do!

Have you done a search for no kill shelters in your area? Could John post a notice at work about the cat? I hope he is being fed and given water.

Oh no! What an awful and inhumane thing to do. That poor cat. Shame on that family!

I'm seeing that a lot this year here in my area as well. More random cats roaming around. I wish I still had my trap, it'd start spaying and neutering them.

I've never been able to understand how someone could just dump a family pet without batting an eye. Just thinking about leaving Felix makes me cry.
