Friends please say a prayer for my sweet boy, he is not doing well. Taking him to the vet tomorrow. I think his pancreatitis flared up again. This is a really bad episode. I don't know what I would do without my dear friend.

Thanks everyone, Midi is back from the vet. We are still awaiting the blood test results. They gave him fluids, anti nausea meds and pain kills. He is happy to be back home.

Hi everyone. Midi wanted to share his good news, his Kidney values are stable. This is the 3rd test were things haven't gotten worse. He is still at stage 2 or early stage 3 kidney disease. All other values are good too. The vet was really surprised how well the old boy is holding up. Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes.

Hi Kelly

yes sadly he was diagnosed 3 years ago. But with a good diet and access to fresh water and taking him off of dry food has stabilized it. At this time he is not getting fluids if it gets worse he will need it. Thanks Kelly

Hi Eric,
Well that's good to hear. I asked, because an ex of mine that worked at a vets yrs ago, goes to a client's house twice a week to give fluids to a cat that has this too. He's been doing it for a long time now, ( over a yr I think?) , & The cat is still hanging in there!
Keeping you & Midi in my prayers!
Again, happy he is doing well. :petcat:
Your good care is why he continues to. :)

I just saw this update on your very special old man and am so relieved to hear that he’s stable and feeling better, though of course wish he had not felt sick to begin with. If it is any comfort, my Wesley was diagnosed with kidney disease when he was 12 but had seven more good years. When he did pass away at age 19, it was from a stroke. His kidney disease just progressed very slowly. Of course every cat is different but cats can live a long time with kidney problems so here is hoping that Midi is one of them.

I adore that debonair little gentleman! Sending lots of huge smooches his way!!!

Hi Friends,

My name is Eric and this sweet boy is Midi, he also responds to Dude. I am not sure how old he is, as the poor guy has moved around a bit. I made him a promise that this will be his forever home. He has been with me for 8 years. He is generally a benevolent ruler, but he does run a tight ship so any slacking will not be tolerated

Midi was one of the first to welcome me to the CatSite all those years ago so he holds a special place in my heart. Glad to see him doing so well and looking so good. That's quite the stash of food he's got in that photo up there! All of it looks like good, heathy stuff!
