We lost our baby Coco today, due to Feline Infecitious Peritonitis (FIP). I have never heard or read about this horrible illnes until several days ago it was diagnosed to her. It all happened so fast and cruel. She was just a baby, 3months and 5 days old. But she was so loving and sweet, she stole my heart the moment I saw her. She was stray kitten, we adopted her and gave her all the love. She fought like a lion, but illnes was stronger. I will always love her and I know that she is up there somewhere, looking at us with her beutiful big eyes.

Thank you all so much, it means lot to me. We loved her and she left way too young, she had all her life in front of her, but nature is sometimes so cruel and unfair.:(

Rest you gentle, Coco, dream you deep. Your pawprints are on someone's heart forever.

FIP is a filthy, vicious disease, snatching away so many babies before they have a chance to really live. But Coco DID live, and loved, and knew joy because of you. And she lives now in a place where there is no illness, and blesses you for every moment that you loved her in this life.

I HATE this desease so so much and I wish someone out there will find a cure which will beat it forever.

Oh so so sad, I am sorry that you lost her after such a short time, for some reason she had to go, she didn't want it and neither did you but she was needed in Heaven, maybe for a young child who passed away who needs a kitty to hold, but she is fine now, just fine and when you see her again one day she will thank you for taking care of her albeit for a short time.

I hope that your heart heals a bit more each day, God Bless.......:alright: :grouphug2: :rbheart:

Thank you very much, you guys here are just too kind:angel: she sure didn't want it, she fought so hard, and so did I, I was waiting for a miracle to happen, but it didn't. She is my best baby, brave little princess and now she is in peace, somewhere up there, where illness and pain, don't exsist. No more needles. Just sweet dreams, just like she always wanted.

Nature is cruel, and there is much pain in the world, but that same world brought her to you and you both shared something that is beautiful. She shared your life journey for a reason, though it was way too brief, she needed to find out what love is and you gave her that. You were there for her when she needed you the most, you fought for her and loved her through it all, and will continue to love her for the rest of your life.
The bond you formed is spiritual, so eternal. "Death cannot take that which never dies'. She lives on through you now, forever a part of your heart and soul. She is as close as your thoughts and prayers, and just as you would want for her if you were the first to go, she wants only happiness and the joy found in life to be your future. You can't change the past, but will take part of it with you into the future. Your memories of what you shared are a precious treasure. Let them give you comfort knowing you gave her her everything. Send her peace by letting her know you will be alright, that you miss her terribly, you will take care of the legacy of love she left you, and you will honor that little girl's name by sharing the love she left you. Her place in your heart is secure. You can add to this love and allow it to grow, like a mother's love for each and every child. Each one unique and precious.
Try not to dwell on her end. It brings nothing but heartache. Instead, concentrate on what you shared, on how much she loved life and lived each and every second. And wants you to do the same.
It is hard, it is so hard to heal a broken heart. Time is the only thing that helps to soften it's sharp edges, and it always leaves a scar behind to remind you. Just take care of and be gentle to yourself, take one day at a time......RIP precious Coco. You will never be forgotten, you will forever have a secure place in a loving heart. May the good Lord bless and keep you, until you meet again!

I am so glad you shared with us and let us have such wonderful pictures of Coco. RIP little Coco. :angel3:

I also wanted to offer these articles about clinical trial treatments for FIP. It won't help your Coco or my Tawny, and all the other lovely cats we have all lost, but hopefully in the not-too distant future, it will begin to save others' cats so that we can start to talk about FIP survivors.

While the loss of any of our furry friends is sad, the loss of a kitten is especially difficult. It doesn't seem possible that we humans can become so quickly, and so firmly attached to something as small, and helpless as a kitten, yet it happens many times every day, all around the world.

Coco's life was taken away from her way too soon, but she was loved enough for nine lifetimes in the three months and five days that you cared for her. You gave her more love, care, and attention that many cats will ever know, and I am sure that she was thankful to you for it. I believe cats and kittens know when a person is going the extra mile to care for and pamper them.

Coco is at peace now! Rest assured that you gave her a wonderful little life. More than most cats on this planet could ever dream possible. Bless you for taking care of her as you did.

:( im sorry that coco passed away, life is cruel. Coco was loved by you and she knew that you would do anything for her, even if it was out of your control. She is in heaven with god and his angels and is being looked after with love, warmth and is pain free, she will be near you to protect you while you are here on earth.

Life is bitter sweet, and cruel, but coco was in good hands. Coco is beautiful and came to you and left you for some unknown reason in a short time span, and to be taken away by an evil disease so quicky no one can explain it only god has this answer. I pray for your heart to mend, becuase it was nothing you did wrong you did everything right.

I also had a sweet little cat die of this disease, it was awful. She just wasted away before my eyes. It took me awhile to get my head around the fact that there was nothing I did, or could've done to prevent it. There was absolutely nothing you could have done for her. This disease is utterly incurable. BUT, she had a comfortable (as much as it could've been with FIP) three months with you and she spent those in a loving home full of loving care. She would've died on the streets horribly alone if you hadn't taken her in. Sometimes we can only just be guardians for animals and do our best, but nature is cruel and disease is sometimes unfortunately part of that. Don't fret about what could've been, this disease is awful, uncontrollable and there is no known cure.
