Are we sure cats are not psychic? Treasure is on the cardboard box (above photo) Shaman ran to her favorite tree and hanging on a branch because Shadow came back and is in the driveway and Noobs in front of the garage. Food delivery is in 4 hours. They do this every time there's a delivery from Prime Now or Amazon.

I am so excited. Treasure let me pet her for a full minute and she even purred. Shaman was her usual pouty self but that's ok. Since she and Treasure are best buddies and siblings she'll soon learn I mean no harm. :)

Well a lot of progress these past couple of days with Treasure. Shaman is sure to follow in a few days/weeks seeing her sibling and best friend trusts me.

Nothing new to report today. I"m hesitant to say that Shadow ate while Shaman was sleeping on the box with no fights because I may jinx the situation. Shaman's been sleeping a lot but it has been rainy and severe storms so she may not have been sleeping too well (do cats suffer insomnia?). Right now Shaman and Treasure are relaxing in their area on another rainy day. Shadow left, No sign of Noobs that I saw and I"m inside doing surveys for the next round of cat food purchase. lol

I think I created some lazy cats here. They've been lazing, lounging and sleeping on that box for 5 hours straight today. Although it is rainy

These poor cats probably think I hate them today not being able to spend time with them.

Well another setback. All this food bought for them and they aren't eating. I won't be sleeping tonight because I'll be working to get them something to eat. Ugh what a mess. I wish I'd get that paycheck already. :(

Yea they did. After Shadow ate and left. Treasure really wants inside though. She has completely warmed up to be. She loves being pet.

This morning, as all Friday mornings, I feel a twinge of guilt as I go with my Mom while she gets her hair done as well as doing our grocery shopping. Not to mention the day by day purchase of the cat food that requires hours of doing surveys. Treasure was up in the tree with Shaman. Hasn't quite figured out how to get out but I'm sure she will. If not, since she's warmed to me I can probably do it when I get home. Also I took a chance and while Shaman was eating I stroked her back, she jumped but didn't run. Nor did she attack me, so maybe she'll be the next one to warm up. Right now Shadow isn't here and may not come til after we leave. Shaman is eating, Noobs at tree while Treasure trying to figure out how to get out.

Any ideas what to do on Friday mornings. We're usually gone 5 to 6 hours. I just don't want them thinking I left them (after the hard life they had in the hoarding situation) and Treasure finally opening up. Since Mom comes downstairs on those days it's a hurry, get the food and water bowls down, and lock up before she comes down and sees what I'm doing type of situation. I can't do this earlier because of the burglar alarm issue I mentioned. Ideas for these kind of days would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

Oh and yea I could sit outside but then there's that issue of not knowing when Mom is coming downstairs and having to pick up the cat stuff and place somewhere so she doesn't see. I wish there was a way for them to see me without having to rip out walls or something as she would never allow that.

The only other thing I though I could do is keep the echo dot as well as my cam running on those days and talk to them when I see them, or at least have the drop in so they can hear me. I'm really in a dilemma with this situation as it requires leaving phones and all outside when I"m not here

Consistency is everything, and since you always come back they know this and have already come to expect it. I personally think you're fine getting the food out as you are and using other days to talk to them and be with them :)

Thank you. Just as well. The Echo Show lost it's drop in ability and I'm not home to fix it. Although I would like to utilize that for days that I'm unexpectedly away and they get used to the idea.

Ok got the Alexa app working. Dropped in an it does look like they indeed know it's that day because they took off and haven't returned. No Shadow so far but who knows, she could have been there when the cam was down.

It seems the wifi range isn't good to go outside. So I'll just have to do without that aspect. They just now showed up to eat. Treasure is sure wanting to come inside though.

I'm at wits end with this feeding situation. I thought cats get used to a feeding schedule? Why aren't they accustomed to the 7:30 am feeding of past 3 weeks? Am I doing something wrong? They come here at 5 am every morning and yowl for food. That's 2 1/2 hours early than the schedule. I can't just go upstairs and wake my mother to turn off the burglar alarm at 5 am. I"m in tears over the feeding issue with these cats. :(

And I just got Treasure to let me pet her and all.

Seriously they just ate an wanting to eat again? Or are they just bored? I'm really in a bind here with this feeding situation. I can't feed them every 5 minutes and their yowling is going to have me thrown out of the house and I'll be living in the bushes with them. What a disaster. :(
