I'm assuming mom is a black silver tabby? (Not a blue silver?) It's a little hard to tell from your picture if she is black silver or blue silver.

Assuming she is black silver tabby, we know for sure that you could get these colors:
  • Black silver tabby
  • Brown tabby
You may also see the following colors depending on the recessive genes that mom carries:
  • If mom carries solid, you could get black kittens or black smoke kittens.
  • If mom carries dilute (blue), you could get blue tabby kittens or blue silver tabby kittens.
  • If mom carries both solid and dilute, you could also get solid blue or blue smoke kittens.
Edit to add: I assumed above that she was heterozygous for the silver gene. But if mom is homozygous for silver, you could only get the silver/smoke versions of the above colors. Silver/smoke is dominant.

Thanks for the reply, mum is more of a blue/silver tabby! I'm trying to figure out the coat genetics but its complicated for my poor brain!

Are both mom and dad yours? How old are they? They’re lovely.

If she is a blue silver tabby, it is much simpler :)
In that case you could only get blue silver tabby, blue tabby, and (if mom carries solid) solid blue or blue smoke... unless both parents happen to carry some other less common recessives, such as pointed, chocolate, etc.

Thanks for the information, I'll be sure to post pictures once they arrive
