I have received very generous samples of KaiKoa (not sure if they send it out regularly or as an exception, they are super new so they have a limited number of shops where they sell but they do have it in my city): 8 cans, every flavour they have. I started from kangaroo one and my cats LOVED IT a lot. It will take a while before they try all of it because I will feed them on fish days only but I am particularly interested in goat and possum because they never had it (I like to think that the weird meat in my cats' food is more sustainable that feeding them the most popular ones). On a different note, I actually liked their labels as they were created by children, great idea imo. Unfortunately for me they do have gums and fish, but otherwise great food.
Yes I got a very sizeable sample from them as well. It will also take me a while to get through all the flavors for the same reason (I only do fish one day a week).

I also got a nice sample from Identity of their Quail and Turkey flavor and my kitty also loved that!

So she could have another protein besides chicken and turkey, my cat Peaches has also started eating Koha Duck LID. It's expensive. Regular 54 but I got it 20% off plus free shipping and more discount with autoship for 24 5. Oz cans. So it was 40 something. I used Kriser's natural pet
Its low carb. It stinks! Oh well, she doesn't throw it up. Major plus

That's a good deal! Lydia is very meh so far about Koha. I got her a couple cans from the pet shop up north and she was not super into it.

Today my girl got Kiwi Venison as her birthday cake and boy, it was a great hit - it smells horribly and both my cats loved it immensely. It has a very dense texture and it's closest to their former european food (texture wise). It's expensive though, I spent 3.60$ for individual can in my local store and it still has some gelling agents, but it will be their treat for special occasion.

I was going to try Reveal. It's only on Amazon. It does not say what the ingredients are. Does it have carragenan in it?

I thought Reveal was supplemental feeding only. Not a balanced and complete food. I use Reveal tuna in water sometimes when Krista isn't eating.

They are truly limited ingredient as they are usually only one or two ingredients like chicken in water, tuna in water, or chicken, broth, and duck (three ingredients!). But that means they are also missing the organs and the supplements to balance this out. Fine for a treat, a bribe, a medicine meal, or, "eat something, won't you?!" but not something for regular rotation.

Thanks. I will skip that one. I was looking for toppers cheaper than the candidate. I plan on trying purina beyond next. Surprised the ingredients look on for purina

I've ordered a variety pack:
https://www.chewy.com/dr-elseys-cleanprotein-variety-pack/dp/185255

I've never run this canned food under Milly's nose to see if she'd like any of the flavors. I guess this will be one of the best ways to go through a smell and taste test (a variety pack).

Does this food actually have a lot more protein in it, as they say? Have people had good luck with their cats liking any particular flavor? Curious regarding other households' experiences with this food...

I used to feed that to Olive. It’s a wetter / less firm pate than others. Olive seemed to like the Turkey a lot until she decided she didn’t like any turkey foods. I liked the ingredients except the agar-agar.

As for protein, according to catfooddb.com it’s around 50%, which is a little low but not bad. The carbs are super low, which I liked. Overall I think it’s a great food to feed.
