Well it's been 10 days since I have gotten those plants off of Ebay..I have finally graduated them to the great outdoors...repotted the purple tunias. Setup the tables in the shade. I was going to keep them on tje ground but forget about the wood chuck that loves petunias and tomato plants...

Well, Michele had an attack of the cutes, and had me dig up 2 hostas and transplant them. One she wanted taken from the front to the back, and it was so big that once dug up, I had to skid it on my snow shovel. I really am too old for such things.

Well you know it's almost impossible to kill Hostas. I'm sure it will look really good when it's grown up!

I've got 3 huge 20+ year old hostas and I need a knife to cut into them. Shovel doesn't work...love Hostas!

Ok took some updated pictures,

The only place that is full shade in my yard other than under the pine trees next to the shed near the other side of the property.

Here's the Roma tomatoes...they got 2 hours of direct sunlight today. Supposed to be all cloudy tomorrow.

I love hostas, and am slowly getting a nice variety of different ones. Do you have pictures of your big guy you just transplanted?

I know you're busy with other gardening things, but can we see pics of your hostas too?

I don't right now, but the one I dug up wasn't the biggest of them. That one gets about 6' across and 3' high, and is a dark blue-green with really wide leaves. The one I moved is light green with white edges, but we also have several that are a lemon yellow color.

It looks like an azalea to me, too.
It has three flowers on it now! I'm so proud.

Go dig up one in the woods and move it
All the wild ones are huge, but I'm keeping my eye out for a baby one.

foxxycat foxxycat has a good idea, but BE CAREFUL.

Some wild plants are protected and digging them is forbidden.
I'd only take a small one from the edge of the road. Plants that grow there usually get trashed when the snow plows go through, so I'd be saving it's life.

I love hostas
Me too! The one I planted last year survived the winter and it's coming up again now. Foxxycat was right, they're tough little things.

They all sound amazing! Now I really want to see pics of them. :)

I bought a yellow one last year named "Fire Island". It has yellow leaves on red stems.

It's been so cool and wet here, that so far most of my hostas are only a couple inches tall. Some are still just emerging out of the ground. A few of the tougher ones are unfurling, but it's really slow going this year. :(

Yesterday we planted 4 husky cherry tomatoes.
1 orange pepper and 1 red one. Last year our peppers didn’t make it.
8 bush green beans and 10 cucumbers.
Still to come are lettuces, that will be some time this week.
when your peppers get established in a week or 2= google epson salts and peppers=they LOVE epson salt water mix. I believe it's once every 2 or 4 weeks.

rubysmama rubysmama yes I have pictures..and don't feel bad=mine have just emerged from the ground in the last week...they really take off in June. And last year I wasn't able to water them and they did ok. They love water though and don't mind the drought. I tried to water them once a week during our months long drought. They also have pretty purple flowers in August if I remember correctly..

Here's some quick pictures.

This was early June one year-not filled out totally. The yellow flowers in front are actually not flowers but colored leaves-I forgot what you call these but bought from next town over-a lady has this huge garden and these came from her yard..

Heres the hosta in one area last week. They just barely coming up.

Theres the hosta with her flowers. This was August. Back when Pumps was still here. She loved being under the hostas. Sorry for the poor quality-I was sitting at the table in the livingroom and took this picture.

This was 3 or 4 years ago-and Honeybee often hangs out here. This was one summer we had very limited rain so the hostas didn't get as big as usual. And Honeybee had just gotten her haircut. She looks like a totally different kitty with her buzz cut-can't wait to get it done again!!

Found some more pictures

This was 4 years ago. The holly hocks haven't come back since. Hosta is in the back.

And for fun Floey several years ago hanging out by one of the gardens. I planted all these ground covers but now there is crab grass in it too so I need to do some serious weeding.
