Gemlady/ Jan Has Passed Away

Some of the the old timers here would remember her. gemlady She had an infection that her body just couldn't fight.

Jan will be remembered for her love of her two cats Ari and Topaz, her deep knowledge of genealogy as well as gems and fossils. I will never forget her wicked sense of humor.

Rest in Peace, Jan.

Jan was a special lady. She kept people laughing that's for sure. I keep thinking of the Christmas trees we used to decorate every year and her "angel" topper that was more of a grown-up cherubim.

Rest in peace. I think she was sadly around before I joined but I wish I had gotten to know her. Thoughts and prayers to all her family and friends.

I read what appears to have been her last post. Sounds like her terrible suffering is over. Levaquin is something that's kind of like a last resort.

So very sorry for your loss to the long time members here. I didn't know her but she sounds like a solid gold heart. May she rest in peace and no more suffering. She is up there greeting all our pets and loved ones who have gone on. RIP Gemlady.

According to one of her last posts, a relative took her cats. Topaz passed in her sleep in January 2016. Aristotle was still with the relative at the time she posted. Jan and Topaz are together again.

Such sad news. Jan was a wonderful lady, a devoted cat owner and a great contributor to this community. May she rest in peace.

My thoughts too. Good to know her cats were not left alone and uncared for suddenly too.

I am so very sorry to hear this. Although I didn't know her she sounds like a wonderful person. To those that knew her I am sorry for your loss.

I also didnt know her but its sad news nevertheless. For her family and friends I'm sorry for your loss.

Although the name rings a bell I can't say I knew her but would have loved to conversed with a fellow chocolate lover. My sincere and heartfelt sympathies go out to her family. RIP sweet angel.
