Someone spray self-hardening foam on an 8 week old kitten - head, face, legs - and tossed it in a garbage can to die. Trash collector heard it crying. brought it back to center where they cut foam off its face so it could breathe and brought it to a veterinarian. Don't know how but he is all cleaned up (with short whiskers though) and will make a full recovery.

Any "human" that would do such a thing as that to a kitten should be locked away until hell freezes over. OMG this makes me really sick!

The good thing...this little furry dude will have a good forever home for the rest of his life. A big thank you to all of the fine folks that had a hand in saving that sweet little kitten.

I don't know if it was a covered garbage can or if there was any evidence that it was done on purpose. . .but it is possible it was accidental. Anyone who has ever uses that stuff knows that it's just awful about getting stuck to everything. If someone emptied the can on the side of the garbage can (not unusual), and the kitten jumped in looking for food, he could have gotten stuck that way. Be careful when disposing of unhardened expanding foam!

Anyway, no matter how it happened, poor little guy, I'm so glad someone found him before it was too late.

From what I read and the pictures I saw it was one of those self-closing garbage cans with an attached lid that are picked up with mechanical arms that extend from the side of the garbage truck, lift and tilt the can so lid flops open and trash slides out. This time it did not slide out, the guy investigated and found the kitten covered with hardened goo and stuck to the side of the can. As an aside - apparently he wants to adopt the kitten. So no, I don't see how the kitten would have been able to get in on his own. The spray can was found in there too. It is being investigated for fingerprints.

Those who dealt with the kitten say that it had to have been deliberate.

And the garbage man who found him is one of MANY who want to adopt him. I'm kinda rooting for the garbage man.
