Hi all,

I know my cat is due for a dental cleaning because her gum line is red. I have been saving up some cash and planning to take her in at the beginning of June. I also have some time off at work at the beginning of June so was hoping to put it off until then so that I can be home with her while she recovers.

But, I was looking at her teeth today and I noticed this white spot with a dark red ring around it on her gums and am really worried. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Should I take her in sooner or would it still be okay to wait?

I have no idea what it is. I would probably get her in sooner rather than later to get it looked at.

I would tend to agree if it's at all possible for your vet to check her gums. Could you possibly send this pic to your vet and get their opinion?

Please keep us posted on her progress. :alright:

Thanks all. I looked at it today again and now it just looks like a red circle. I think it is a sore or ulcer. :(

My vet is closed till Tuesday but I will call them to make an appointment Tuesday morning.

I always thought ulcers would be extremely painful though and she wouldn’t be eating. She seems perfectly happy and fine.

I’m so worried about her. She is my sweet baby. I can’t stand the thought of anything bad happening to her. :sniffle:

Here’s what it looks like today.

She also doesn’t seem to care if I touch it besides the usual annoyance of things being in her mouth.
