There is no reason to bleach her bowls. If she has tapeworm as seems likely, she got them from eating a flea.

Buy a flea comb. If she has fleas when you comb her their will be dirt on the comb, push the dirt off the comb into a bowl with dish detergent (stir it to make bubbles) and continue to comb the kitty. Don't get the kitty wet, you don't need to and she probably won't like it. The dirt is from the fleas and often has fleas in it. You put them in the soapy water so they will drown. Fleas can swim, but not when there is soap in the water.

If she was in a house with fleas, and they did not treat her, that's where she got the worms. What you see coming out is just 1 phase of the life cycle, when the worms spread their eggs, so just because you don't see them does not mean that they are not there. You should still check for fleas with a comb just to be sure that you got them all and treat the other cat for worms, as it is likely that they picked up worms as well.

As for sleeping with your kitty- unless you're giving her button a kiss goodnight, you are not going to get tapeworms. Some may or may not wriggle out of her while you're sleeping, so there's that. It's not a bad idea to sleep separate for a bit, but you have been sleeping together prior to your discovery so if you can get over the gross factor, you'll certainly live. I'd suspect that a cat would probably clean themselves and re-ingest the worms faster than they'd get on your sheets.

No, they can't get worms like that. And I've been rescuing feral cats and kittens for about ten years now. They're always full of worms but I've never got them. Just make sure you wash your hands before eating, after cleaning the litter box etc.

Don't panic! Just get the tapeworm medicine at Petco and use as directed. You'll be fine.

You're not going to get worms just by petting her. It's fine to have her on the bed, just make sure you wash your hands properly before you eat, prepare food, after cleaning the litter box etc.

They DO NOT get worms from eating people food. If they are on the anus and look white, they are tapeworms and are gotten from eating the fleas on an infected rodent, usually rabbits. if they don't go outside, they usually don't get worms. They can also 'inherit' them from their mom, she can infedtr them with fleas from the rodent. They will NOT infect you, so sleeping, holding, etc. will not infect you, the worms need a rodent/rabbit to complete their life cycle, not humans. Once the worm falls out it needs to be ate by a rodent eating the grass it is on to reproduce, and needs the fleas on the rodent (which are sucking it's blood) to be spread. So don't freak out or clean excessively, they WILL not spread to you! But they can be spread to your other cats if they groom a flea off themselves that came from the rodent and is on yuor infected cat and is passed to your other cats from that cat. Make sure any medicine you get says it kills taoeworms, MOST over the counter do not, the just kill roundworms and hookworms. A vet there will have pills that kill them all. I would bring them all in and have the vet do it, or get some Pill Pockets for cats, tear a small piece off and 'paste' a half pill to a piece of bacon (if you need a pill and a half, then 3 pieces of bacon), or put the pill in the middle of a small amount of tuna. Most cats gulp it down. Good luck, you are really fine, and bless you for asking for help!

Unless the food was raw meat that was already contaminated with parasites to begin with and you bought the meat from a questionable source (which is unlikely since you are in the US and most likely buy meats from a supermarket like everyone else), you don't need to worry:)

What kind of people food do you give? Here's a list of things you should never feed a cat, although the one about raw meat and bones and eggs is a kind of a hot topic: People Foods to Avoid Feeding Your Pets

Do you know what kind of worms they are? Are they in vomit, poop or hanging off the anus in little pieces? I know it's gross. Worms are pretty common though. Does the cat also have fleas? Some are passable to humans but might involve ingestion. So if you are good about washing your hands and keep the litters clean you could be fine.

Worms would rarely come from human food scraps but are very likely to come from fleas or having access to the outdoors.

Blame and guilt are not useful emotions. If you are trying to solve a problem focus on the solution and do not dwell in regret if you can help it. Carrying on and thinking of the next step is the best thing for you and the cat.
She is indoors their are segments of worms and I saw worms in her pool too I'm a new cat mom when she was first brought home I gave her a dry shampoo flea treatment nothing was wrong and now she's gotta be like 6 or 7 months and now the worms

Human food doesn't cause worms unless it's raw meat that is already infected which is not possible given that meat here in the US goes through stringent quality control.
Lots of potential parasites in sushi. People eat that stuff like it's going out of style. I don't eat fish unless it's cooked.
