Good morning! :wave3: And Happy Friday! :yess: (And once I get through today, I'm on vacation for a week. I don't have to go back to work until the day after Memorial Day. :cloud9:)

My question today: Do you eat three meals a day? Breakfast, lunch, and dinner? When do you eat you main meal of the day: as lunch or as dinner? (Obviously, for those who work, dinner would have to be the main meal for most of you.)

My mother cooked three meals a day; Dad expected her to cook. Both my parents and Rick's parents started to have their main meal at lunch when they retired. Rick and I have agreed to keep our main meal at dinner. We never eat much at all for lunch. And breakfast is usually a bowl of oatmeal during the week. Rick has instant; I have the old-fashioned rolled oats.

What about you?

Like your mother, mine also cooked 3 meals a day and I've followed in her footsteps. ;) I can't start the day without eating breakfast and need to eat lunch but less hungry at dinner. I guess the old adage rings true, i.e. eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.

I don't necessarily "cook" all 3; but I eat three. Lunch is usually sandwiches or leftovers. I don't even take time for soup these days. DH cooks himself a good breakfast and then he has a good dinner. His job doesn't really work a good meal time or place into it. He mostly eats what he can eat on the go; so he's ready for something satisfying at night. So thats what I arrange things around.

Breakfast is a must for me, though it usually isn't big--except on weekends, when I love to go out to brunch. :yummy: I usually have a fruit or veggie smoothie and a piece of toast, or sometimes just peanut butter or avocado toast, and some V8 juice.

I eat lunch, too. I'm usually home alone for that so it's something easy and light--usually leftovers from dinner--salad or veggies, sometimes a sandwich.

Then hubby and I have an early dinner, which we usually cook together.

hmmm......i tend to eat smaller meals, spread out through the day/night. i eat breakfast, usually hot or cold cereal with milk (though can vary), almost every morning. it's only when i've been up very late the night before, and then get up close to lunch time, that sometimes i'll skip breakfast. lunch usually is a cold cuts sandwich, or a grilled cheese sandwich. sometimes i'll have some mini pretzels with my lunch. and dinner is almost always something hot (most times reheated) and homemade. i prefer a hot or at least nicely warmed up dinner. i rarely eat dessert with my dinner, and prefer to have that during the overnight (while i'm up giving my cats their 'middle of the night' snack).

I don't eat breakfast. I usually have a snack around 2-3 pm, but then I'm not hungry for dinner. I do try to eat a small portion though, so I'm not hungry again until the next afternoon.

If I don't eat something for breakfast, the rest of the day goes haywire for me, even if I eat lunch and dinner. If I had to choose, I'd make breakfast my main meal. A small lunch: snack or smoothie. And dinner, always before 7 pm.

I make a GNC meal replacement smoothie for breakfast and eat an early dinner on workdays. There really isn't a set routine on weekends, I tend to snack a little here and there through the day on weekends.

Nope. If I eat anything in the "morning", it is usually toast. That is a big "if." (Morning is in quotes because I get up in the afternoon because I stay up all night.) Somewhere between 7 and 9:30, we have dinner. Sometimes there are snacks, but not often.

I don't eat breakfast (but I do get my morning cup of coffee), I'm not hungry until around 11am. My work schedule is different a few times a week so I do end up eating 3 meals a day for the most part, but the times vary a bit. On weekends, I tend to only eat dinner and a snack.

I usually eat one meal a day, what time depends on my work schedule. (Which is chaotic to say the least) The rest of the time I snack on fruit and drink gallons of tea.
