:clapcat: Excellent stats on her!! Bella is 15 days old but only 5.5 oz. It is likely that your cutie is purring; in the beginning, they rumble inconsistently, like a gas powered engine that needs a carburetor adjustment  As far as bowel movements go, tinies can skip a few days because they are digesting their formula well plus they don't have all the gut flora developed yet - poop/manure consists of a good percentage of dead bacteria. (the things we learn when we have our own medical issues :einstein:). If she goes #2 before the vet visit, try to keep the stool sample to show the vet. ...ah, TCS - the site where poop is readily discussed and normal b.m.s are cause for celebration :poop::dance::flail:

yep I get all the poop talk and why people get all excited or scared. I will definitely try to keep a sample now that you said that. I hope she gets some meds for her runny nose/cough it makes me nervous.

Hatake Vet Update:

So according to them she is 100% female lol.
She not 11-12 days old more like 8-9 days old. Goes to show you can't always go off charts and feedings and such lol..Vet really didnt seem concerned about runny nose. Kept asking if when she coughs if milk comes out her nose. No I havent seen that yet hopefully never. She had no idea about the cough/choking nose Hatake makes when eating so she had a nursery volunteer feed her a bottle to see but of course Hatake didnt do it and volunteer didnt do anything different then I do. ‍♀ Volunteer thought maybe she just is eating to fast and gagging herself. She agreed Hatake is an excited eater lol.

Overall they said Hatake looked really good for her age and being so young. ❤

Thanks everyone for all the help/advice/tips and tricks

Your technique looks excellent! can you try putting the nipple back on the syringe & letting her suck her formula that way? I had warped my syringes by scalding them so when I switched to the bottle, Bella really gulped her food & got gassy.

The only problem i have with the syringe is there are 5ml only and sometimes she eats more. If i pull out out and switch to another one she refuses to take it. Meows for a while. I am thinking about getting the 10ml syringes to try. One thing i notice the nursery volunteer didnt let her put the nipple in et mouth as far. So i am testing that and not letting her put it in as far even she sucks. So far so good way less choking/ coughing maybe she was just gagging to much. Idk.... will update in a few days with this method. :)

Hatake Update:
Going off what vet said Hatake is 13 days old today. I switched to bottles with the longer miracle nipples. She has been doing awesome no more funky choking/coughing sounds. She is eating like crazy 10-13mL every 2-4 hours. Weighs 8.25oz ..she has her little purr now going and her little eyes have started to open. she is doing awesome for the most part but....

She has had this runny for a good week now, vet didnt seem concerned at all when I told them. (I know its most likely viral nothing to give for it) but now she is getting sore on the sides of her nose from the snot. I clean it as often as I can. Any advice on a home solution?
Also now that her little eyes are starting to open they are goopy. Again Ive been wiping as often as i can with warm tissue. Any advice on that?

Photos so you can see

Persisting running nose and goopy eyes in a baby cat cannot be overlooked. If your vet is not concerned I would see another vet. Ordinary colds often go away by themselves but when the situation persists I would not ignore it even with an older cat.Are you keeping her warm. A 13 days old kitten is very fragile.

It might be reflux if her eyes aren't goopy. The stomach acid would certainly cause irritation to the nose. Ask the vet about antacids that can be added to her milk. I'm pretty sure I've heard of people using Pepcid or Zantac but you'd definitely want to confirm that and ask about dosage.

My vet gave me Biomoxx drops for Bella as well as probiotics to add to her formula. I am glad that you solved the problem of the nipple size - you are doing an awesome job!
Coconut oil on the sore nasal tissues can be very comforting. it works well on the hind end, too. For the goopy eyes, my vet has me use an antibiotic ointment.

I will update again after seeing the vet and hopefully get something to atleast help with the infection so it does not progress anymore.

I forgot to mention that I use warmed eyewash solution instead of plain water (especially don't use municipal tap water because of the harsh chemicals which can cause irritation). I have read that some members here use micellar water; I bought some to try on an elderly cat but my courage flailed when I read the warnings against getting the m.w. in the eyes.

Hatake Update:
Took her to vet again on Friday due to constant sneezing, gunky eyes that seal shut, runny sore nose.

She has a upper respiratory infection. Trodamycin for her eyes and Amoxicillin. 2 doses on Amoxicillin and 3 rounds of eye drops so far and she is already doing better. No more sneezing, nose is not runny like it was. Eyes are still sealing shut with gunk but not as much so its easier to wipe away which happens at every feeding.

She is back for the most part to being herself and flopping on her back and pulling my fingers close. Thank you all for your help with my little pudgie girl.

*she moves to much to get a non blurry photo ‍♀
