Whenever its time for my daily catnap, Flapjack curls up right next to my face (sometimes even smothering me lol) and I wrap my arm around him and we just sleep together ^_^ sometimes I even fall asleep while i'm holding his paw which he doesn't seem to mind which is great.
He also likes to sleep with his face REALLY close to mine so I basically get full frontal assault of his CKD breath (comes apart of the territory :p )

Leonid likes to lie on my stomach and purr. His face will be 6 inches from mine. He's a big cat and his feet will be on the bed. He used to lie with his back to me, but a few months ago he started to lie facing me. I love looking at his sweet face while I pet him.:redheartpump: Playing with him makes me laugh out loud sometimes, but it's the snuggles I love the best.

Similar to Flapjack's Mom Flapjack's Mom . So, I'm laid on my left side in bed and Oliver will lie next to me adjacent to my chest. I put my left arm under him and my right over the top and I hold his paw. He's purring away at this and it's just lovely and intimate.
Betty and Chubchub are simply not interested in this sort of thing.

~ :redcat: I like feeding my cats. It's a lot of work but I like seeing how excited they get when it's time to eat. Some will run through the rooms seeing what the others are having before settling down. They meow and purr. A few look at me as if to say "What flavor today - fish or chicken? " One insists on pushing his head in the can of food for a taste !
Nice to make these little animals content doing something so simple. :catrub:

Willow is very particular about touch. She will sit on the arm of my chair or on top of the back of my chair but moves away if I pay attention to her. But when I get up in the morning she will sprawl across my bed and let me pet her as much as I like. So usually I am soaking wet and wrapped in a towel and delaying getting dressed so that I can get my cat fix in. She usually lays across my clothes and we always end with tug of war over my bra and jeans.

I love getting them going and riled up and playing. I can really get a few of them going with a heavy duty wand toy we fashioned ourselves. It's withstood dog attacks and 2 or 3 cats with teeth and claws. I love seeing my oldest girl (Queen Bee) show off her speed and agility when she decides to go after the laser pointer. She's quite the speedster. When I see 11 or 12 year old cats arching their backs and hopping sideways at something or watch them play wrestle it just makes me laugh and feel good inside.
I also love it when they want to nap near me, they don't always want to cuddle which is fine, but they want to be near me, curled up and purring and enjoying an amiable companionship. It's nice having a cat or two in your lap, but having several dotted around the room that made it a point to come to the room and join you in a "pack nap" is pretty cool. You can't force a cat to want to hang out with you. I guess I'm not so bad after all!
I also usually enjoy preparing their food. I like being the one in charge of feeding them and I enjoy preparing their home made meals and knowing what goes into them. I like how excited they are for their food and how they clean up every little drop.
I do NOT enjoy preparing their food when I wake up an hour late, they're tripping me up and screaming with voice pitches that are cute after 2 cups of coffee but not cute if I'm not even awake, then I realize I have no food thawed or prepared for them. Those mornings, they eat a quality canned food so I can keep moving with my other chores
If you have a house full, sometimes it's easy for the quiet cats or the shy or more reserved cats to fall in the shadows, when they approach you when no one else is around and you have this little quiet minute with them and they're flopping, purring, and are happy, it makes you realize that they're OK and they're OK with you, too. With 9, sometimes I worry about the quiet ones because they're just secretive little things sometimes, and I want to make sure they're happy and get what they need.
With the barn cats, it varies from I'm glad I caught a glimpse of the wild ones flying out of the barn like I'm the demon from Hell or I'm glad that everyone is here for dinner because it means everyone is alright.
Cats (outdoor/feral/etc. especially) are the only pet-type creatures I've ever known that I can know their whole lives, bury them at an old age and never really know who they were. I think that's why they're fascinating.

As I lay on my bed, usually when I first wake up, my girl Patches walks on my stomach and chest until she finds a comfortable position, then lays her head on my shoulder, usually the left side. As I rub/scratch her I can hear every little purr and breath she takes. I cannot believe someone dumped this fantastic, sweet girl on the street... she's amazing and smart as a whip too!

My Buddy is a bit sensitive too. He does not like his paws or belly touched, I know a lot of cats are like that. He doesn't sit on me or my lap, but he does snuggle next to me and puts his left paw on top of my arm, as if to say "this is my daddy". He just starting doing this in 2019 and I've had him since 2014.

That is wonderful. With some cats, like ours, you measure progress in years not weeks and you enjoy every small step forward.

There are so many things about Theo that make me smile. He gets SO excited about feeding in the morning. He jumps 3 feet in the air sometimes trying to get the dish! And when we get to his feeding spot he trots does a couple circles and right to the dish as I put it down.

But, before feeding, I comb him. All I have to do is grab the comb and a toy of his to distract him while I comb his tummy and back legs and as soon as I sit, he jumps right into my lap purring loudly. He LOVES to be combed.

Also, I like how he reacts when I walk towards him talking to him. He will squirm and when I reach down to pet him, he meets my hand halfway. He is so affectionate.

Well besides the obvious of having my cat come up to cuddle, I have something else that's a bit different.

So every time my cat comes back inside she'd come crying for me to make sure I'm still there. I always found it interesting so sometimes when I'm still in bed, I'd pretend I'm not there. She'd search all around for me until I wake up from my bed and then when she sees me she lies down and seems to be relieved. I don't always do it but I like doing it sometimes because she's just so cute when she's searching for me.

Here's an example sound recording video. At around the 0:25 is when I sat up from my bed and she saw me, you'll hear what I believe to be a sigh of relief for cats.

My favorite thing to do with my cats?

The boys make me happy in so many ways and it tough to pick just one favorite thing.

Arnold almost always sleeps with me every night. He usually wants to spoon. He will lean his big head back and push it hard against my chin. He rubs his head against my face. He is big and strong and you can feel the force. I reciprocate, which makes him even happier. He falls asleep quickly (im envious) and I smile as I hear his deep sighing and groaning in his sleep. If I turnover, he will often walk around me and flop heavily back down in his spoon position and reverse head butt me again. This is our special time.

Greg is more my wifes cat. Arnold disapproves of greg showing me affection and will give greg a hard stare, sending a clear message. But when arnold isnt around, greg will spend some tender moments with me. It can range from quiet little chirps (strange comming from a 20 pound cat) and very direct eye contact, to flopping on the floor with tummy fully exposed and front and back legs stretched out with loud purring and rubbing his head against my hand. These are our quiet stolen moments together.

My Blackie also rubs her face/jaw on my chin, especially when I wake up. She's a little girl, only 10 lbs, so not much force there. :) She also licks my hair! lol

Of course cuddling is top of the list for me too ... especially when Olive is super cuddly and crawls under my neck.

I actually love to feed her. She gets super happy and usually polishes off her bowl.
