Everytime I see post that have to unfollow on fb about cats being abused or anything.
Do you just look at your own cat feeling with empathy and hug your cat saying he/she is lucky to have found a good place.

It made me emotional and have to hug my cat wishing every cat was lucky or any pet.

Yeah my cats should be lucky that include the one I lost to cancer. I never gave up on them when sudden illness or when the one I had to let go had horrible runny stool. And my cat I still have seizures.
If they were in the hands who thought if they are broken they would get rid of them.
But to me not broken

Definitely. Especially when that cat is a cat you rescued off the streets. I wish I could have saved Felix's whole litter but unfortunetly, they weren't ask lucky as him.

Every time I see cats being mistreated or abused, I just wish I could save them all.

Yes I do. My boy is a rescue when he was around 3+ weeks old with an open wound.

Every time when I feed him and watch him eat, or when's happily running and playing and sleeping at home, an imaginary scene will always play at the back of my mind showing what if he was not rescued and left to fend for himself at this young age and with nothing to eat or at least something to eat but it may be just scraps and not fed regularly with no proper nutrients.

And also when he's playing and running and sleeping, the thought of there's no safety out there, no one to play with him, he has to sleep in the dirt and being chased away by people not to mention cat haters and he would not be showered with love and care if he was not rescued.

Each time all these brings a sadness in my heart and tears to my eyes and I'm glad he was rescued. And echoing what Graceful-Lily Graceful-Lily mentioned, 'I just wish I could save them all'.

Yep. A few of my friends on fb post sad stuff. I'm still friends but do not follow. Everytime it storms bad or it's really cold, I think how lucky my cats are to be inside.

While I don't do FB or any of the other ones, I always tear up when I see things on the news or hear any stories about animal abuse. My heart falls straight to the pit of my stomach if I see a cat suffering or lifeless on the side of the road, and even just looking at photos from our local shelters of cats needing adoption gets me feeling sad and guilty. We have three rescues at home, and can't really have anymore, but I wish I could.
Just today, my husband mentioned that our local pet rescue organization will be having an "adopt-a-thon", where all the pets ready for adoption will be in one place and you even get a discount on the adoption fees. I told my husband we should go, and he replied "Why? Do you really want another cat?" I said, "Well, technically yes...but no, I guess I just like to torture myself." :sigh: "But we can still go and pet them all" :). He just rolled his eyes at me:p, but did mention that he would love to have a resident cat at his work. He runs his own business and is there all the time.
Although our crew is still new to our home (adopted December 30th) we still comment on how amazing our little kitties are.

I always do. I hug Toffee and Fudge and tell them how loved they are and that they're always safe in our house. I was reading an article a couple of weeks ago about how brutally dogs are treated during the Boknal/dog meat Festival in South Korea and it brought tears to my eyes.

I cannot stand to watch someone being mean to an animal. It is painful for me to watch so I normally won't. One thing I see in many "funny cat videos" on Youtube is a cat getting caught in the handles of a plastic bag and racing around freaking out about it while the people filming laugh. This can hurt a cat! I make it a point to cut the bags because I know Theo loves bags and I will not risk him getting caught. I pack the bags into another bag so I can re-cycle them but he hears the bag and finds them. I try to keep the house safe for him.

That, and when they are purposefully scaring a cat and think it's funny. When you see a cat in the middle of the "zoomies" and they fall off a couch or smack into a wall, I'm always Ooh, I hope it's OK, but then I do laugh, cats are very funny, but to put a cat into an obviously stressful situation and laugh at it's misery really gets to me. Although, when that cat does turn on it's human and attacks it's face, THEN I laugh! Serves him/her right, stupid human!

Our cat Lexi had been abused. When we adopted her from the SPCA she had a dislocated hip and a hole in her trachea. A vet had taped her back leg to her body to prevent the hip from moving.

We kept her in a bedroom with just a mattress that was low enough that she could get up on to it. Someone slept with her every night for the first several nights.

When enough time had passed that her hip should be healed, our vet cut off the tape. He warned us that she could have permanent problems. The first vet obviously did a good job. We adopted her 10 years ago, and she gets around just fine. There are no signs of a dislocated hip. She runs and jumps just like our other cats. It took nearly 2 years before she could vocalize. To this day, she just makes minimal sounds

I'm a guy and I'm not supposed to get all mushy. But, even today, when I hold her and think about what she went through, I cry.
