Was there any blood? Did that particle come out of her anus or was it just on the outside?

To me (and I'm not a vet), that just looks like some old poop that got caught in her butt fluff and hardened. She was probably mad because it was stuck to her butt fur so it hurt a little when you pulled it off. Is she fine now?

Of course, if it makes you feel better, you can always take her to the vet a with the item in a baggie for the vet to examine.

It really sounds like, to me, that it was just old poop that had crusted around her bum. Some cats just don't clean as well back there as they should. I don't think it is anything to worry about, especially if she is acting normally now. :) We all worry about our babies!

You could take a paper towel/washcloth, damp with warm water (no soap or anything), and gently wipe her bottom nightly. That will help with any more buildup. :)

It's just old dried up poop:):grouphug: Nothing to be worried about. I make it a point to check my long haired cat's butt after she uses the litter box to make sure she doesn't have poop stuck to her fur back there.

I agree with the others: that was a bit of poo stuck at her anus. And yep! can be painful to your kitty if you try to pull it off. owie! (But her reactions told you that already.) Better to try softening it a bit with either a slightly warm water compress (although she may be leery now of letting you near her bottom), or dab just a tiny bit of coconut oil on or around it and those things may get her to clean herself more but on her own time. If she's encouraged to clean her bottom more than you clean her bottom, it might be a bit better in the long-term... almost as if she will be in charge of how much she wants to lick there (e.g. in charge of her own pain factor if something is a bit stuck for a day or two!).
:vibes: :hugs:
