Ahhh!! Help! We are going to a concert tonight! We are suppose to leave in 30 minutes. I have three children under 4 years of age so night outs are super special!! I spent most of the day with Lucy, she slept and let me rub her tummy. She hasn’t been able to potty all day. She talked to me for a good 5 minutes but I thought it was just because I turned the AC unit on in her room to regulate the temperature. She did not like this and was pissed until I turned it off! So, the big problem...She has never in the 3 weeks that she’s been here laid in her nesting pool that I made for her. She is in it now and won’t come out. Should I stay home and not go out tonight? I don’t want something to go wrong tonight and not be there for her or her babies. Ahhhh.

Do you have a baby sitter at home with the kids? Could you put your phone on vibrate and have your baby sitter call you if Lucy goes into active labor?

Yes, we have someone there and she is a cat lover so I trust her to help if something goes wrong. I have a camera set in Lucy’s room and receive an alert whenever she is active. I’m going to be watching it like a hawk! I pray that she waits on me.

Miss Lucy is still hanging in there! No babies last night, thank goodness! She has been super lazy today and has gotten a good three hours worth of belly rubs. I can’t feel the kittens moving much anymore and her tummy is hard. Maybe we’re close?

She also decided to nest on my stomach today! She was pawing my stomach and moving my shirt around. If she would have had a baby on me, I probably would have died. Haha. It’s super sweet that she loves me this much though. She’s my girl.

We are still waiting...

I’m getting a little nervous because we leave for Disney World on Friday and I don’t want to leave her if she hasn’t had them. My neighbor is going to sit with her while we are gone but I’m hoping that I can be here with her. Say a prayer for us that her time comes before then!

It is only Monday today. She'll probably give birth before you go away on Friday. Sending bibes your way for a prompt and safe delivery.:vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:
Thank you!! I keep telling myself that we still have a few days! She is so big that everyone
I walk in her room from being away for a bit, she lays down and spreads her legs for me to wipe her bottom. She’s too big to clean herself. Poor baby.

but if she has them before you go, I don't think would be very safe to leave them alone. I would take them with you or try to postpone the trip

but for me, I've always taken pets with me places
theres always a.way

pray about it, and heavenly Father will help you, I even found a way to take my dog to Japan with me and a Hawaii and they both had quarantine and I was able to come up with the money to pay for the quarantine to take my dogs with me.

I don't think you should ever leave a pregnant animal or her babies alone.

that could be a disaster waiting to happen sweetie so please be careful

but whatever you have to do, you do what you need to do sweetie and don't let anybody make you feel bad or change your mind

also, I don't have a lot of friends but I always have somebody I know that I could trust to leave my pet with while I'm gone.

they may not be as good as you or as loving as you but at least the cat and babies will be safe

I can't really add a whole lot since I don't know much about Cats giving birth, but if it were me I would stop and have a serious talk with the family about what everyone would want to do if she hasn't had her Kittens by the time Thursday night rolls around.

On one hand a trip to Disney World is a big thing and I'm sure everyone has been looking forward to it. It would undoubtedly suck to miss it but it can always be rescheduled, right?

On the other hand watching new life come into the world is also a big thing and can't be rescheduled. If you miss it you miss it and she will most likely give birth while you are away if she hasn't by the time you leave, but if someone is going to be there with her the whole time you are gone then she should be ok and you'll be able to see them when you get back.

for me, it's even more important than watching a New Life coming to this world
it could literally be the difference between life and death and a lot of suffering especially if a cesarean section is needed or, like my brother, a baby got stuck in the birth canal and the mother and the babies that had not been born at all had to be put down

I'm always positive when people need advice, but this is kind of serious and worries me just a little bit so please really think hard about this one

I can't imagine how anyone could travel with a queen and her recently delivered kittens. I know I wouldn't.
And no doubt MissLucysMom has already planned to leave them in charge of a capable and responsible person -whether delivery takes place before or after her departure- with all the information necessary to contact the vet in case of need and provide such a person with the necessary money to do so. Perhaps the vet would agree to be paid at her return if his/her services were required during her absence. If I remember it rightly MissLucysMom has 3 vets on call irrespective of her presence ot absence during delivery.

I hope delivery will take place before next Friday and that MissLucysMom will be at peace before departing and enjoy her visit to Disney World.:)

Thank you all so much for the replies. I really appreciate the different perspectives!

My neighbor will be watching Lucy and her babies if she has them before then. She will also be on hand if she has them while I’m gone. She is even reading all the articles I’m reading so she’ll be fully prepared! Our baby monitor reaches to her house so we are going to keep the camera set up so she will have access to them when she is not there with them.

Even though I think it would be amazing to witness the miracle of birth, I’m more worried about my girl. We’ve only had her a few weeks now and I’m already her person. That’s the hard part about not being with her. I don’t think she could make an 8 hour trip right now and she feels most comfortable in her room. Cancelling Disney World isn’t an option either because I have two little girls who have been waiting on this trip for months! We will only be gone three days so I’m hopeful that everything will be just fine with her. :-/

Can you reschedule the Disney trip or was it booked in advance and already paid for with no refunds? mmeyers9 mmeyers9 brought up a good point, there's always the chance something could go wrong with the delivery and from the way it sounds I'm going to guess you would be devastated if you weren't there.

A difficult situation, indeed.

We are definitely going to figure out something. I called one of the vets at the office and she said since it’s the weekend and the offices will be closed, I could pay a vet tech to come watch her! I think that would give me such comfort knowing someone with knowledge will be there for us.

This is my girl, tonight. Bless her heart.

Here are some more pictures of her for the ones who have been through this before. I don’t think she can get any bigger. Her stomach is so tight right now and I can feel the babies body shapes through her skin, she’s so tiny! You can see how wide and how round she is. She is continuously laying on her side and lifting her back leg for me. I rub her tummy but I’m not sure if that’s what she wants or something else. She probably wants me to “get these babies out of me!!” if she is anything like I was pregnant. Haha

You can also see how full her teats are! They just hang as she walks. She’s had milk since Friday, that I am aware.

As of right now she is in and out of her litter box, she also just got in her pet carrier and started scratching around. I told her it wasn’t big enough for her babies so she got out. Haha
