probably either pancakes or french toast! :yummy: i never make those for breakfast (not first thing in the morning, and i don't like making a bunch of dirty dishes in the morning either), but i will make them for dinner sometimes.

The basic ingredients are bacon, egg, sausage, beans, mushrooms, fried tomatoes, fried bread and black pudding although I'm not keen on the last one. It's all basic stuff but for some reason we've claimed the title over here. Perhaps we were the first to combine all those items on a plate, I don't know.
It's always best from a roadside cafe rather than at home for some reason (in the head probably).
The problem is when in Spain, for example, where the bacon and sometimes the sausages are just not right in my experience. Mind you, there's usually an English bar that does it properly.
Yum yum. Ahhh, forget about that cholesterol thing, just tell your heart it's a bean salad.

I'm with you on that mightyboosh mightyboosh but you forgot the HP sauce. You can't beat a full English, sets you up for the day.

I'm not a breakfast person at all. I never eat things like pancakes, french toast or waffles. If I do eat breakfast type foods, it would most likely not be at breakfast time but at night for dinner. Very soft scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage and toast. I do like hash browns but only eat them if I'm at Waffle House. Sometimes it will just be soft boiled eggs with toast. I'm not a morning person so that's why breakfast really isn't a part of my life. When I'm at work, it's coffee when I first get there and sometimes I have tea at break time which is at 8:30 AM. If I feel like I need something, I'll have a low sodium V8 over ice with a few dashes of hot sauce. Yes. The person who HATES mornings gets to work at 6 AM. Why? I like being done for the day at 2:30. I would never, ever get up at 8 AM on a Saturday or Sunday and say, "Let's go out to breakfast!" I could be sleeping and sleep always wins.

I like a full Grand Slam kind of breakfast. Bacon, eggs, hash browns, pancakes. I don't get a breakfast like that very often though. I usually have a breakfast bar and an apple.

I'm not really much of a breakfast person nor am I much of an egg person,but...we have been known to eat breakfast for dinner on occasion. If I must have something,it's gotta be peanut butter toast,or an everything bagel with a schmear, nova lox, tomato and onion.

mightyboosh mightyboosh How did the English start eating beans for breakfast? I'm not being snotty, honest I'm not. I've just never heard of beans for breakfast. Are the English the only ones who do that?

My favorite breakfast is usually some kind of omelet with some bacon, ham, or sausage. Sourdough toast....it must be sourdough toast, no other toast will do. My coffee and some OJ. Potatoes for breakfast is optional. I do enjoy a bit of fruit, too. If I make breakfast at home, then it's usually French toast or pancakes.

I do enjoy breakfast for dinner sometimes.

I love any kind of breakfast, but French toast is probably my favorite - with a healthy dash of nutmeg.

I can't do the tomato, beans, and blood pudding in a full English. Just eggs, toast, and sausage or bacon, please.

I love a cooked breakfast enough to have it sometimes for dinner. The kids loved waffles. I love omelets for dinner.

Like I said, just say to the arteries that it's a bean salad, they will never Know.

Beans for breakfast only with a full English otherwise no.
So beans on toast is a snack?

Also unheard of here. Are those baked beans? My local grocery store has the Heinz beans in the imported foods aisle.

Yes, I do believe they use baked beans on toast. I have tried it and I really like it. I have seen them eat beans on toast on the British sitcoms that I watch.

More of a quick cheap meal for lunchtime or tea rather than a snack which is what I regard as a bag of crisps or small sandwich etc. I put some butter in the beans as well and sometimes an oxo cube too.
Yes, Heinz baked beans is probably the most popular brand, there are loads of them. Another is beans and sausage in a can, Heinz again amongst others.
