What Is This On My Cats Neck?

I have a 8 month old kitten. Last night i noticed she had what appeared to a superficial cut on her neck. It was very red and looked fresh. This morning it looks a bit better but the fur has come off also. She is eating and playing lots with her sister and seems fine however i think i will take her to the vets tomorrow to be on the safe side.
I was wondering if anyone knew what it could be? Maybe she scraped herself or parasites? She is a indoor cat.

I'm not a vet, but it looks like just a scratch from playing to me. Kittens roughhouse like crazy! You can either continue to take her in or you could call your vet and ask to email a photo of her neck. They may tell you to put some topical stuff on it and monitor it for a few days before bringing her in.

If you think it would help any until you get to the vets, you can brew a chamomile tea bag (grocery store variety, German - NOT English, no additives), cool the liquid and then dab it on the spot with a cotton ball - maybe 2-3 times a day. The tea has both soothing and healing properties, and if by chance she would ingest a bit of it won't harm her.
