I'm from the days when McDonald's French fries were really, really good, cane sugar colas, about three TV stations, Marathon candy bars, riding bikes without a helmet, and lots of Judy Blume books. (I didn't get hooked on Stephen King until high school.)

we all had TV antennas for reception, the national anthem playing nightly when the television stations signed off, 11:00pm on weekdays, maybe midnight on the weekends? Also, candy cigarettes, polio vaccines just came out, black and white television only, 78's record albums, 45's for the single song records, seat belt wearing not mandatory, ladies wore hats and gloves to church, or whenever she dresses up, men wore black or grey hats when dressed up, boots went over the shoes. wow, I could go on and on...… Here's a tell tale of my age, the Beatles came out when I was age 11...

I watched the moon landing on live TV.

That's all I'll say about it, other than my hair color tends to match my Norwegians more than it should.
At least you got to watch it. I was overseas at the time, and had to just listen on Armed Forces Radio.

Somewhere in my basement, I've got 8mm movies of the TV while it is showing the launch of Apollo 11.

BTW: That camera would have been a Polaroid Swinger.

Kodak didn't sell instant print cameras until the mid-1970's. Although, ironically, Kodak actually manufactured the film that went into Polaroid's cameras. Then, in the 70's Kodak started to sell their own version of instant camera but, since Polaroid owned the patents on instant film, they sued Kodak and won.

If you've still got that Swinger camera, hold on to it. If it's in decent condition, it might be worth a couple-few bucks. :)

Oh... yeah... I'm old enough to know about cameras when they still used film! ;)

We hooked the back door screen and the front door screen doors, left the wood doors open to draw a breeze through the house and went to bed. I remember a path out the back door that led to an out house. No bathrooms and no running water in the house. Life was primitive and simple then.
