tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 he is adorable and has the tiniest kitten meow. I have been asked before if he was a seal mink tonkinese. I have no idea the people I got him from no longer wanted him because they thought his eyes would stay blue, which convinces me they saw his parents and possibly does have some Siamese or Burmese ancestry. To me he's just my adorable little panther man :)

I've never been a fan of blue eyes, personally. But he's absolutely gorgeous, who(m?)ever his ancestors are/were.

I think they were mad to give him away his eyes are mesmerising as they are and he is so super affectionate and loves head bumps. I couldn't wish for a better companion

I think that about any cat who is given up. Every cat is beloved of me! and every cat has unconditional loyalty, love, incomparable elegance, strength, agility, and beauty. Your sweet prince is very fine!

I started this thread 6 years ago with my Panthera as my avatar. He's still around at age 14

a little round these days although I have put him on a diet of kibble for fat cats and he has lost over two pounds without complaining to much. He now weighs 17 lbs and he should lose another 2 to be a svelte kitty again. He's a big cat and always has been but with a little age he has also gotten a little lazy.

All the best to Panthera as he goes toward his goal -- he is a glossy panther kinglet! Our beloved angel Calo weighed 17.2 -- pure muscle. He was built like a weightlifter and one of my nicknames for him was "the Bullcat" because his arms ("front legs") were a bit bowed, like one of those bulldogs.

One bad cold snowy winter day I looked out the front door and here came a Solid black Stocky cat hobbling up the hill, in the snow on 3 legs. He was holding one bleeding paw up. I had never seen this cat before. He came in the house and I fed him. His front forearm had an inch or 2 of missing skin like he had been hung in something . He had half of one ear missing from fighting and very visible scars on his face. This cat was old, you could tell by the gray (white hairs) on his face. I always thought he was built more like Mike Tyson. I managed to get him to the vet and get him mended and Neutered, but as soon as he was better he was back out fighting. After several more vet visits he ended up with Kidney failure and had to be put down. I have never seen another cat like him, short stocky legs, short jet black hair and built like a prize fighter. I have always wanted a cat like him but haven't tun across one as of yet!

Well, maybe you should be glad you haven't, as the original guy sounds like he had quite a rough life.
Calo was always very good-looking, with lustrous coat and in good shape, but he also was injured on one of his "front legs" -- an abscess from fighting -- so we got him to the vet and he was also neutered and innoculated while there. When he was released, we adopted him and he became an indoor-only guy. He had a good long life, full of love, in a large cat family.

Panthera is a lover and a hunter. He sleeps with me next to my head, always wants to be with me and sit on my lap, purring his head off the moment I touch him. He also loves everybody who comes inside, he will immediately sit on that person's lap,he plays sidewalk superintendent to every repair person. But woe the occasional fly that makes it inside or a silverfish that has made a home in an old box that has just been moved, and don't even think about a bird that makes it onto the patio. There has been more than once that he has brought in a bird through the cat door that leads onto the enclosed patio and I have the windows open there. He's an indoor kitty but would hardly starve to death if he got out and lost.

Such a sweet House Panther! Yeah, I was really surprised at our "barn crew" whom we brought up to the Mojave. More than once, they obviously had "wild game" for dinner in the form of mice (and once, there was a large scorpion in their compound, dismembered:shocked:) One poor mouse found its way into the house and ended up on the living room floor, not eaten, but quite passed away. Even here, there have been a couple of lizard tails in the living room :sigh: Hopefully their owners lived to grow new ones.
