Good morning.

:wave3:

Where do you live? How did you end up there? Do you like where you live or would you like to move?

I live in Japan, half way up Mount Fuji. I originally came to Japan for one year, hoping to make enough money to pay of my university loan and then go home and get a "proper" job, but after coming and going a few times and having various adventures I finally settled here.

I like the part of Japan I'm in now because it's really rural, my cats are happy and I can ride horses whenever I want to. I'm probably not going to move, but we will have to rebuild our house eventually as this one is pretty old.

Your turn.

I live in South Wales near the Gower Coast, a beautiful part of Wales. Live within 10 miles of the house I was born in but moved several times. My last move was 5 years ago and cant see me moving again but you never know. It is really quiet, surrounded by fields and trees with good walks and a lovely country park 5 minutes drive to the left and the beach 15 minutes drive to the right. What more could I want.

Central PA. My parents and relatives are all from here as our Rick's relatives as well. Overall, we like it here. I wouldn't mind moving away once we retire, but not sure where I'd like to move to. And I doubt Rick will ever move.

I live in Western NY. Aside from my time in the service, I have always lived here. My family roots in this area go back to 1796, when my 3x great grandfather was granted 100 acres of land for his service in the Revolutionary War. Given the current state of affairs in NY, however, I would like to move elsewhere- if only I could convince Michele to do so.

I live in a village in the province of Antwerp, Belgium since 2014. I have lived in more than 10 different places in Belgium and I'm not ready to settle down yet.
I'd like to move to a coastal town in Spain or Portugal (because of the warmer climate) once I retire.

I hate where I live. I live in Toronto - not a good part of Toronto. There's a lot of violence. I'd like to move to any other city but life hasn't been the most kind to me so it seems nearly impossible right now.

I've been tramatized from an early age. Some of the stuff I've seen on my street have been unspeakable. It's been a source of intense anxiety. Even a trip to the grocery store is enough for me to feel better.

Mid-thumb area of Michigan about 1/2 hour north of Imlay City. It's farm country, and I quite like it. I grew up in a suburban area with a very large yard that had lots of wooded area and a swamp that I loved to play in as a little kid, so the change was very easy. I have no plans on moving and will likely be here until I die.

I'm in North NJ. Sort of - not way up north but it's not central either. I'm about 25 miles southwest of NYC. It's ok where I am. Smallish town, good access to everything we need, good shopping nearby of all kinds and a relatively easy commute to work. My immediate neighborhood is quiet which is a big plus. The county I live in has a lot of parks and other recreation and while I don't take advantage of it personally too much it's nice to know it's there. Taxes are way too high in NJ though, especially annoying considering I have a small home with a small yard.

I'd rather be in the city itself. I was born in Brooklyn, lived in NYC for about 15 years too. I moved back to NJ about 25 ago and well, it's just way too expensive to get back to NY now.

We won't be here for the long haul - I retire in about 7-8 years and have no desire to remain in NJ. Not quite sure yet where we'll wind up though. Maybe somewhere a bit warmer in the winter. I never thought I'd say it but I am getting kind of tired of dealing with that aspect of life as I'm getting older.

Eastern Ontario, Canada! (About an hour away from Ottawa)

I really like it here, feels like home. Very comfortable and pleasant, not as CRAZY expensive to live as Toronto/Southern On, with a lot of things to see and do whether beautiful nature or city activities. If I were to move I would move to Europe, but otherwise not really interested in going to any other provinces other than visiting. I've lived in Quebec (Born in Montreal) and Nova Scotia prior, and feel more at home here. Ontario has become my province! Feel less of an outsider. Like any place there are downsides, but otherwise fairly content.

As for ending up here, it was account of my parents. We moved and traveled a lot while I was growing up on account of my dad's career; Hong Hong, Japan, Hawaii, Finland, Russia, UK, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia etc etc my father got a job as a professor at a military college nearby. Since that was his last position before retiring we all settled here.

But yeah, as mentioned if I were to move again it would be to Europe. Enjoyed my time there and was very comfortable.

I live in Maryland, have been living here all of my life. I really don't like it. The crime is getting worse all the time. In 3 years when my sister retires we are all planing to move to Fredericksburg, VA. near my brother and his wife. It is real nice where they live.

I live in central Minnesota, USA in a small town in the suburbs of Minneapolis/St.Paul. My father grew up about six miles from my current home and that is also where I grew up. When I was young I thought about living different places but not now. I love the changes of season, access to healthcare is good, shopping close by when I need it. Couldn’t imagine living anywhere else now.

I have always lived out in the country in Northern NY. I almost moved to Australia, but I found out they seize your cats for quarantine, make you fly to a city that's far out of your way, and charge you thousands of dollars per cat. And they don't have a Walmart either. :eek2:

I'm not sure where I'll move next. Hopefully closer to town so I don't have to drive 30 minutes to get to the stores.

I live, was born, and grew up in the Chicago suburbs. I've lived in a few of them, but it's home to me, and as annoying as things can get here at times (snow on April 27th, really?), this is my home and I think I would be sad living somewhere else.

I live in Northeast Ohio. I moved away from a different part of Ohio to get away from my abusive ex-husband. I originally came to the area I am in now after my children and I lost our house to foreclosure because of my ex-husband. Foreclosures can take a long time, so we had a place to stay for a couple of years after I left my ex. When we had to leave, a friend let us stay at her house for a couple of years. My husband (the cutie in the picture with me) and I started looking for a place to live before our wedding, and we liked the area so much that we decided to stay.

What we like about it is that it is a small village with low crime rates and more decent people than not. We have a not-too-bad grocery store in the village. We also live 20-40 minutes from several larger cities. I do not mind the drive most of the time.

I love the landscape here. One of my favorite feelings is when I am on my way home from the doctor's or a store in one of the larger cities and I come to the crest of a certain "hill" on the highway. I get excited because I am almost home and because the view is lovely. Trees, fields, and hills with a smattering of houses.

I like it here, but it's way too expensive to live. I want to go further west to maybe Texas. But my family is here and no one wants to move.
Yes. It is and that was the #1 reason why DH and I moved away from there in 1993. At that time, we were paying $800 a month for a 2 bedroom basement apartment. One of those illegal ones that are all over LI. People have them to help pay for the insane property taxes. I miss 2 things about NY. Pizza and bagels.

I live in south Florida. I love it here and was meant to be a Floridian. I hate the cold and despise snow. After living in NY for 23 years and Colorado for just shy of 10, I was ready to live somewhere that never sees that evil white menace. Is it VERY hot and humid here for most of the year? Yup. Do we see the seasons change? No. Do I care about either of those things? No. I don't spend time outdoors when it's really hot and when I do have to go out, instead of complaining about the heat I simply remind myself that it NEVER snows here and then I say, "HELLO heat! Have a nice day!" :sunshine:We also have no state income tax. :D

It's also beautiful here. That helps. We also have lots of beautiful wildlife like dolphins and my beloved manatee.

DD may end up leaving the state but not me. I may leave the area I'm in but won't leave the state. Ideally I'd go down to the keys - Key Largo is my #1 choice but it's very expensive to live down there. Paradise ain't cheap.

I moved to southern Oregon after I retired in 2014. I’ve lived in seven states and moved more than 20 times and will move one more time: into a retirement community in the same town in a few years. Until this last move, I’ve always lived in smaller towns near big cities, and while I miss the proximity to a city, it’s beautiful here and the weather is mild.
