Happy May Day, or Beltain, if you prefer!

Let's do something off the wall...If your five-year-old self suddenly inhabited your current body, what would your five-year-old self do first?

LOL, the same thing that my 66-year-old self does...PLAY WITH THE CAT! The one thing that has never changed throughout my life. And the second would be the same as well, find a book to read.

Find a book to read as well, and pick out a pretty frock for kindergarten.

My 5 year old self would be begging someone to tell her a story, while she played with the cats. (My mother, knowing what an incredible first grade teacher I'd have, actively thwarted my efforts to teach myself how to read.)

What I LOVED doing at that age...,.exploring outside and making forts,etc. I was a big dreamer at that age, I pretended I lived on a farm, in the woods, was a vet, had a zoo, etc.

Like others, I'd play with the cats.

First, my 5-year-old self would have to recover from the shock of discovering all the things he couldn't do any more, like running, jumping, and climbing trees, because of the ravages of time.

I loved playing outdoors as a child, from 5 years old on up. Whether riding my bike, playing jump rope or enjoying nature and looking for butterflies, grasshoppers, bunnies, etc.

That’s exactly what I’d do...and in the same order!

I feed the girls in the morning at about 6:15, and the two 15-year-olds just sit quietly, staring at me while I read the news before feeding them. The five-year-old alternates staring at me and jumping around like a ping pong ball, chasing her toys. So I know how my cats would answer the question.

I'd go out climbing trees, building dams in the stream, building dens etc.
I'd much rather be a pre-hormone child again where Mum and Dad are invincible and can cure any ills. Being grown up sucks a lot of the time.

myself at five years old would actually feel happy, relaxed, and relieved. and after discovering my three cats, we'd be getting to know each other!

I'd adopt a cat since I didn't have a cat when I was 5 years old, I was a little bit older when our first stray showed up.

I'd probably be playing outside with my friends and hanging out with my grandparents and helping around their house. Man I'd LOVE to make a pie with my Gram right now! Oooh I'd also have ABC noodles with butter and ketchup for lunch while watching The Price is Right.

Cry most likely and then grab my boobs and start crying again and then I'd phone my mom to see if she knew what on earth was going on!

But after all that initial confusion I think that 5 year old energy would do very well in this middle-aged body. I think that was the age where I liked to help clean the house so it'd just be perfect!

Yeah, pretty unnerving!

Think "Oh crap, I have to go through school...again".

My five-year-old self would probably do a lot of drawing or painting. I loved arts and crafts at that age.

Create a kingdom out of all my old happy meal toys. Then, rule over all my royal subjects.

First, I was like, I don't know.
Then I read your answer, and realized that would be my answer too.

I would love playing with my cats and dogs. Especially my boxer, Boots. and eat candy.

I'd cry. I was mute when I was 5, so being alone in my current apartment would terrify me as a 5 year old, especially if I wouldn't know my parents' phone numbers.
