This has always been a favorite one of mine. This was back in July 2017.
Awww, so sweet !!!
Nice shot !I actually took this photo in March. It's a pretty resilient spider that spins a web this early in spring!

Thanks! Yes, I kind of miss my " little visitors" at my old place. I'd always give them some nuts. So the picture is like he's saying,Awww, so sweet !!!
That's a pretty good shot of the web with water droplets on it!
Thank you! It was early morning and it had been foggy. I’m not sure how the spider felt about it, but I thought it was a pretty cool effect.Nice shot !
I have always held that the way to improve your photography is by taking pictures. That is one big advantage that digital has over film- it is so much easier to dump any bad shots right away without the cost of buying more film, and paying for processing, so shoot away!Photography is not one of my better talents but I enjoy taking amateur photos, does that count? These are from the Botanic Garden in the windy city.

Why does it stump you? Do you mean because the background is dark? That has to do with the depth of field and the settings on the camera. It’s lovely. I’m a plant lover and the Hellebore is a very neat flower! I love the veining!Hellebore flower loaded with seed pods

Tulip flower and photograph that continues to stump me because I took it in broad daylight.

I don't see anything wrong with the shot of the tulip. If anything, I think the term to use would be 'dramatic'. Now, all you have to do is figure out how you did it, so you can use the technique again.Hellebore flower loaded with seed pods

Nice shots especially the last 5 shots! Some of the wild stuff that grows around here.
Thank you! The last one is Monk's Hood, which is poisonous even though it's so pretty. I'm not sure what the other flowers are.Nice shots especially the last 5 shots!
I'm stumped because the flower wasn't that far away from the surrounding vegetation so even with a shallow depth of field, I would have expected the foliage in the background to be lighter and to show up more than it does. And it is a shallow depth of field - the barely visible foliage isn't in focus at all. The only thing I can think of is that for some reason the image was underexposed. Why does it stump you? Do you mean because the background is dark? That has to do with the depth of field and the settings on the camera.
Thank you! I'm a big fan of Hellebores and I've never seen them flowering so profusely as they are this spring. It’s lovely. I’m a plant lover and the Hellebore is a very neat flower! I love the veining!
Thank you! Yes, I was very pleasantly surprised. I just hope I CAN figure it out again!I don't see anything wrong with the shot of the tulip. If anything, I think the term to use would be 'dramatic'. Now, all you have to do is figure out how you did it, so you can use the technique again.
Ah, but that's the thing. The background was in full sun, just like the tulip flower! I'm kicking myself for shooting in automatic mode and not paying attention to the settings! The reason why this shot turns out this way is because the tulip was brightly lit and there’s not enough light in the background as it is in the shade and with a fast shutter speed and small aperture with the focus on the flower will give you this exposure effect.
Ooh, how lovely! Beautiful photos and beautiful wildflowers! The forest must be filled with enchantment these days! Some of the wild stuff that grows around here.
