I'm listening to stories like Dragnet, Suspense, The Lone Ranger, and Mr. & Mrs. North on the radio old. The first time saddle oxfords came round. Shoes dyed to match party dresses. Home permanents that never looked like the box. Cars with wild tail fins. Burma Shave signs. Howard Johnson restaurants, along with Stuckey's. Roller skates that clamped onto your shoes. A milkman who come in and put your milk and other dairy products right into the refrigerator. Door-to-door shetland pony photos with you dressed up in western clothes. Molded Jell-O. No jet planes. Tiddley Winks. Learning to write with a fountain pen. News reels and serials at the movies. Hand-pumped water wells. Ding Dong School. Queen for a Day, first on radio, then on TV. Ed Sullivan. Bing Crosby. Lawrence Welk. Nehru jackets. Penny loafers. Fancy hats on Easter. Nineteen cent a gallon gas, with your oil and tires checked free. Trading stamps such as S & H Green Stamps and Black Gold you could redeem for merchandise. Air raid drills. World War II, the Korean War, Viet Nam, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan. Bra burning. Chemise dresses. The Hokey Pokey.

I'm older than dirt or the stone @1 bruce 1 used.

Rubik's Cube
I remember Rubik's Cube, I never could solve it. I don't remember scented erasers, but I remember scented stickers and sparkly refillable pencils, roller skating, drive-in movies, candy cigarettes, Little House on the Prairie, Babysitters Club books, metal lunchboxes with cartoon characters.

it was fun rolling the cassette tapes with a pen when it would get jammed in the cassette player. I used to wake up at 5 am to set up my cassette player connected to the TV to record music from Rage. So i would wait and wait till the song came up and be there to push the play and record button at the same time to record my favorite song LOL

I had to explain to someone younger than me how Dad used to have to splice movies when the tape snapped. They couldn't fathom it

just a few minutes ago i was saying that to my mum, that when i was young we didnt have to worry about anything only getting hit by a car if we were playing near the streets. Now in the life we are living, you walk in the streets, but you cannot say anything or look at someone in a wrong way cause you could up getting killed, or if you are simply in the wrong place at the wrong time you get killed by a terrorist, and by terrorist i mean anyone of any nationality and any race and religion, if you look at the world today nearly all the countries in the world have a reason to hate one another, because no one knows who is really causing it all. You have shootings in schools, churches, streets , cinemas, concert bombings, event car or truck mowing people down, or going shopping people mow you down on footpaths, bombings , suicide bombings, suicide pilots , killings , hostage situations, planes crashing into buildings and towers, mountains, war in all countries and riots retaliations, extremists and the list goes on. The world has literally gone mad and people are more vigilant and observant. Then you have those who go on a drunk and drug fueled rampages or mixed with mental illness, were people get one punched in the head and they are dead on the street or they simply go crazy attacking random people in the street. You have to think twice if you should go to places and at certain times of the year.

I remember listening to reports of the fighting in Korea on the radio, because we didn't get our first TV, a second-hand set, until '53 or '54. We also listened to The Shadow, a definitely non-PC Amos 'n Andy, and a bunch of others whose titles escape me. Yes, things were different then, in some ways better, in others not so much.

I remember everything so I guess that makes me older than dirt.
Yeah, I used to have a crush on Clint Walker and Hugh O'Brien from Wyatt Earp.
“Wyatt Earp, Wyatt Earp,
Brave courageous and bold.
Long live his fame and long live his glory
and long may his story be told.”
