Hello Everyone, I'm new here. I have had two 4 year old male brothers for 2 years. They both have a condition called stomatitis of the gums. One it does not bother the other required treatment monthly to manage his condition. My question is about the 2nd one. He also almost died from felis micoplasma. He is stable now amd appears happy and well. However we recently introduced a new cat into our hime and very very slowly introduced him. It worked out well and they are all happy with each other. That being said the one in question has had some significant fur loss on his belly and ankles. I would appreciate suggestions for possible causes. Thanks in Advance

It could be stress related. It happened to one of my cats when a change in the daily routine occurred. One steriod injection sorted the problem. Give your vet a ring and see what he thinks

Hi! Do you have feliway diffusers? There are also calming treats, check the ingredients as there are quite a few options.

I don't as I have many allergies also I am very careful as to what they eat as the causes of stomatitis of the gums is unclear and can fatal or not monitored and treated regularly. One prominent theory is severe food allergies can contribute so I am careful about what they get to eat.

You could double-check with your vet - it does sound like it's stress, showing up in the fur loss. See if there's something your vet suggests to help your baby cope :heartshape:

Thank you guys for all the Advice! I took my Olive to the vet and she was leaning towards anxiety. She treated him for fleas just in case there was no relief so that was not the problem. She prescribed a short term steroid which only partially helped. Before that wore off I risked my allergies and bought a feliway. The feliway had no effect. My cousin has a cat that recently began attacking their other pets and she used CBD oil to treat him with amazing results. I decided to try the CBD oil as well and I also had amazing results. He is completely back to his happy playful cuddley self.
