Yeah, it probably would be a great show if they focused more on the romance & less on the violence.
I don't much care for graphic "romance" either ;). I'd be OK with less graphic violence (that is how old-timey kingdoms rose and fell!) but they just get way too bloody and gross. Let's have it happen off-screen now and then, huh? I don't need to have that in my head.

Raw kale is OK if shredded into smaller pieces but it's just so tough. And cooked greens can be iffy---if cooked wrong they just get slimy. So I'm kind of meh on kale.

Raw kale for salads and the like has to be "massaged" to break down the fibers.

I would rather have poke sallet than kale any day. It only grows in the spring, is poisonous, hard to prepare (like fugu) and not very well known. But properly cooked - I like poke and scrambled fresh eggs - is excellent.

There was a song about poke sallet back in the late sixties or early seventies. It was called ''Poke Sallet Anne". If it is poisonous, how do you eat it?

I'm glad someone asked that.
You start by picking only the top leaves, then simmering them, changing the water and rinsing the leaves several times. Never let them sit in water as that will leach the poison back in. Pat them dry and use them right away. This takes about 1 to 2 hours to prepare.
Then chop the leaves (should look like canned spinach) coarsely, saute in butter, and when hot add eggs and scramble. Traditionally, in this area, the eggs are cooked until firm and starting to brown in spots.

The song "Polk Salad Annie" (as it was released) is by Tony Joe White, recorded in 1969. He got a lot of things wrong, but did describe it quite well. I'm sorry, I can't seem to insert a link from my Fire 10.
