If you have a shower stall with a door that is a great place to groom a cat because there is no place for them to run.

I have never seen him rub up against anything, only against my legs and not that often so this may not work.
I just need to establish a higher level of comfort (and trust) to get to where I want him to be. 
As for grooming in a shower stall, I'm hesitant to get into one with Master Shredder. I will take my time and just suck it up for now with more sweeping and vacuuming
