Hi,

I just came out from a shower to find this on my bed. It seems different to my cat's normal poo, however it doesn't seem much like his previous vomits either, so I'm guessing it is the former.

He never goes to the toilet on the bed, and he seemed to be a little bothered and sluggish earlier, so I believe if it was poo, he might have been constipated and then had a diarrhoea moment (he seems more chipper now), but I'm a little concerned about the appearance.

Does this look normal or is it cause for concern?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,
I honestly don't like it. If it's diarrhoea, is a bit less worrying. It could point to colitis, considering the blood and mucousy appearance, but the color is a bit too light, which could also indicate some liver issue.
If it's vomit, it could be an emergency. Blood in vomit is never to be underestimated.

Does your cat have a regular veterinarian already? If so, I would immediately contact him/ her, even send the photos via email if your vet's office permits that (many vet offices do these days). The emailed photos are not to replace a vet visit (which I recommend!) but just to quickly let the vet know before the visit what has happened. I do think this is a cause for concern.

I would also send it to your cats veterinarian. But does your cat catch critters? It almost looks furry like a partially digested mouse or something.

I agree that it looks like it used to be a mouse. Does he go outside? Well, mice can get inside too. That's my guess for now. Of course if it happens again, give the vet a call. Or if he's not eating or drinking or using the litterbox properly.
