Hi everyone I'm new so if I'm doing this wrong please let me know. I have a 10 month old Kitten named Gizmo I found her in a ditch when she was about 4 weeks old. She still wool sucks on blankets. Will she out grow it on her own or should I make her stop. She only does it with my throw blanket and only when Im using it.

Hi! As long as it doesn't bother you for some reason, let her do it! She may grow out of it, or she may not (some cats don't). It's very sweet that Gizmo wants to share that throw blanket with you. When you can, give us a pic of her - even better with her favorite suckling throw- but we'll take a pic anyway you've got one!!

A fair amount of cats love love love wool. When I tried to felt a cat cave I bought some raw alpaca. They were after the bag like there was no tomorrow.
The project was a failure. I ended up with two pizza pie pads that I put on their cat trees which they love to snuggle in and do biscuits.

Someday i’ll Give it another go.

Meanwhile it’s a comfort thing for Gizmo. It reminds her of being a kitten. And since you’re her mom of course she loves the one with your scent. Best of all worlds there!

There is no need to stop her from sucking up but if you would rather not have a soggy throw you can buy a small piece of wool fabric for or give her a piece of an old wool sweater and lay it over your throw.

Thanks I don't mind it. She is the first Kitten I've had, the cats I've had before where adults when I got them. She's not very snuggly except with my blanket and in the car(sometimes)

Please give consideration to what was said before by very experience people.
Don't know if it would be of any help - some of my cats would suck on anything I wear.
Sometimes it is not about a specific blanket or piece of clothing, but your smell on it. Cats who love you very much - they will express it in any way to let you know how much they love you. It is just their way to express their appreciation for you being what you are.

I don't stop mine from doing it, no do I encourage them to do it.
I believe is that what cats do - we just have to understand. I try, don't always succeed though. They are too clever for me.

Awwwwww you have a binkie sucker! Take lots of pics and videos. Their little sucking noises are adorable!!! Provided your Gizmo is not eating the blanket, I would let him go at it.

I have noticed that orphaned wee kittens who are not weaned, usually become binkie suckers unless they have a nursing surrogate cat to ‘nurse’ off of (milk need not be included, they just want the comfort.) I have a binkie sucker myself and I keep a special baby blanket for him to suck on my lazy boy for him to use and large blanket on my bed for him.

We had a cat, a number of years ago, he was called Gizmo too, we got him at 6 weeks old, and he did this all his life, he lived till he was 16, so it brought him no harm.

Just from my experience - cats if they suck on something - that does no harm to them. That calms them to some extent.
Some experts say that it is a way for them to express that they miss their mother, but I'm not sure.
But in any case, it is no harm for your babies.
