There is back story to this cost , a few weeks ago a local grocery store had Fancy Feast classic pate for .24 cents a can!!! To say I bought "Some" would be a gross understatement.
That's amazing!!!:yess:

I don't think I want to know what I spend on my cats for food. One cat is only on rabbit, mix of canned/freeze dried with a pinch of Nature's Variety Instinct LID rabbit kibble daily. I wouldn't be surprised if she costs over $100/month just on her food. The youngster is being switched to frozen raw and canned, but still has kibble(Fussie Cat Chicken/Turkey). Really trying to find him some cheaper options for food as with his volume and my girl needing an expensive protein it is adding up to a good chunk of change.

wow, i wish our store would have that sale - i'd buy all of any of HK's preferred flavors. i get excited just thinking of how much money we'd save as we're currently spending an average of over $450 per month for our one elderly cat on fancy feast as it's so hard to get him to eat and he requires variety. at that price, we'd have it down to around $200!

I'm also curious how it costs $450 for one cat?

I feed my one Krista quite well on Rawz for under $200/mo. I don’t really know how much I spend because I buy a small stack of cans at a time based on her favorite at that time but trying not to buy too many at once or she’ll immediately switch favorites on me. She goes through about a can and a half a day.

because our cat is underweight and picky. when he turns down a flavor, we open another can, sometimes another and as many as it takes to get him eating - and he doesn't often finish, although once we get him eating, he'll take at least a couple bites from each plate.

he's got IBS and he's elderly, so he also doesn't digest that much of his food - he needs more food than he did as a chunky younger cat. plus we open two cans a day for the juice to mix his potassium with. we also leave at least two plates on the floor at night - and sometimes he'll even finish one.

That's dedication!

I used to spend $200 for 2 of my cats. One ate raw 100% of the time and the other ate 100% canned. But now I do home made raw so that cost has gone down to $150 or so. The 2nd cat eats 50% raw and 50% canned now.

I currently have 3 cats here with me, inside the house (as Pepsi is in my own country with my kids), and another 2- 3 cats I am feeding outside. I am spending around $200 per month on wet food alone.

Now it might increase, as one of my outside cats have given birth and has an unlimited hunger.

My husband and I are tightly squeezing our budget for our own needs, but ensure that the cats have wet food stock at all times. It is not easy, but this is the life we chose.

How much Fancy Feast are you buying for your cat?
we buy by the case of 24 cans. i just checked amazon, and we bought 21 cases from amazon in march in my accout. we also bought a bunch of loose cans and a couple cases from pet smart in person. believe it or not, this is lower than normal month for us when it comes to buying cat food because partly of which cans we had left from february.

here's a screencap of my amazon account's fancy feast orders - note that only part of march is shown on this page:

and this is how it works out to so much food

I spend approximately $50 per month on 1 cat. I rotate between Taste of the Wild, Fromm, and Instinct. I pick up treats as needed, but that's covered in what I allot each month anyway: Inaba, Pure Bites, Wellness Kittles, Orijen

I really don't pay attention to how much I spend on food. I know he needs it and I try to get the best for him. I will short myself before I would short Theo. He comes first. He depends on me. I am not important and I would be lost without him. I am on a fixed income but he gets premium foods.

I'm spending about $80 on wet food for my 2 boys. They are eating Natural Balance which I consider mid grade quality. They get a tiny bit of dry as a treat each day.

One has a sensitive stomach that doesn't allow us to vary brand/formulas. He is doing really well on current food & the supplements. So its money well spent.

I feed almost exclusively Tiny Tiger. I did just order a case of Fancy Feast for some variety, and I throw in a few cans of Abound/4Health Chicken and Ocean Whitefish. Or, if Chewy has a good sale, I will jump on it. They had Crave BOGO a few months ago and we are still working our way through those.

I am currently not working (school full-time) and even $100 on food (litter is another $13.50/40 lb bag and pet insurance...) is stretching us a little thin. Not to mention Dexter was our surprise kitten hat I found back in November....lol! We love him but he has cost us a lot more than we were used to paying in food.
I feed one of mine Tiny Tiger, the other 2 won't touch it, which is a real shame because it's a bit cheaper than Fancy Feast. A word of warning: if you haven't fed them Fancy Feast yet, I would advice not to. Like my two, they might get addicted to it and it will be difficult to get them back to the Tiny Tiger.

I can help you cut down on litter costs if you have a Tractor Supply near you. Their pine pellets bedding for horses and small animals works great as litter, and it/s only $5 for 40 lbs.

My last cat, Oliver, got Fancy Feast and some dry. He was most definitely addicted to it. Theo is on better food I think (I hope)

Those if you who only feed wet food....how much do you pay a month and how many cats do you have?
7 and dont even want to know how much it cost me. Alli is on prescription food now so pretty much cost a fortune. We had been on 2 wet 2 dry feedings a day. But moved to 3 wet 1 dry with 6. Alli gets all wet.

All 3 of my cats have food allergies. It was costing me $300 for all three of my kittens. Now they aleat less. They are 13 months now. I wasn’t tracking so closely as I bought stuff on chewy and at local stores. I’m doing a monthly order of chewy. I’m thinking this will be the cheapest month. My bill is 120 so far. I think for the entire month it will cost 150. :)
