Hello all!

Introducing myself as a rescue mama but it was the kitty who essentially rescued me.

I am now a proud manaKat to a very special kitten who is now 10 months old and the light of my life. She has become my Emotional Support Animal and I never realized how my life could change- for the better!

Maisie goes with me so many places. We have had so many neat experiences and many more to come. I think we are finished with the snow here in Ontario so it will be nice to spend more time outside.

As a photographer I have been documenting her life since 4 days after her rescue when I finally named her and knew she was mine.( I had intended to take her to Humane Society)

So many stories, so many adventures.....I’m sure I’ll share a few on one of the threads.

For now, my girl is napping and I’ll going to take advantage and get my yarn out and do some knitting.

I look forward to becoming an active member on the site.
Have a good evening all.
Kat

Welcome to the Cat Site! We all love kitties here, so you will be very welcome. We also love photos - Can you post some pics of your Maisie? We would love to see them.

PS I think most of us think our kitties are our support animals. I don't know what I would do without mine.

Aw, such a lovely story! Welcome to you and Maisie - I'm also a firm believer of you don't choose your cats, your cats choose you :)

Welcome to you and Maisie! Can't wait to see pictures of her! I can't tell you how often I've heard "but the cat rescued me" here. And they do. I don't know who I would be, some days if I would be, if Hekitty hadn't come into my life!

Thanks for the welcome. I finally changed my avatar to Maisie's photo - she's Miss January here LOL (age is 7 months in the photo)

We are just chillin' this Sunday afternoon....I have work to do on the computer and she's currently napping after an extensive bout of bird & squirrel watching from the window. She also has a mild tummy upset (soft messy frequent stools, probably twice as often as usual poop times) but her energy and appetite are good and she's drinking water. I'm not concerned at this point. I have my suspicions it was a particular brand of canned cat food (she gets a small spoonful with her supplements 2 x day) We are now on dry (I was amazed no complaints from the plain breakfast this morning *grin*)
I'll be baking some chicken and cooking some rice, so a bit of those and a bit of pumpkin for dinner may help put things into check.

I'll go browse the forum topics to see where we might be able to contribute stories of our life together or how she came into my life and other amazing tales.

A warm welcome to TCS! :hellosmiley: I'm happy you joined the site and introduced us to Maisie. We can't wait to see more pics or hear more tales about your adorable rescue kitten. And I can't agree more that our cats offer us unconditional love and support us in countless ways. :agree:

I didn't even have to read what you wrote (but I'm sure glad I did), because the title you chose was enough to make me smile :)
Welcome :hellocomputer: And share stories, silly things that happen to you both, and ask anything, people here are remarkably helpful and kind.

I definitely have stories to share but not sure where to post them. I just browsed through The Cat Lounge but as of yet, haven’t found a thread to post on. Of course I could start one but I don’t want to duplicate one, especially so early in my time here.

We seem to have a full week of grey and rainy days this week. Ugh. Maisie is used to going places with me or for a walk around the apartment grounds. We may be donning the pretty new raincoat I got her at Value Village just so she can get a bit of fresh air and exercise.

Here’s a pic of her from Saturday
Scratching her claws in a real tree was definitely The Cat’s Meow

I’ll get a pic of her in the new raincoat this week- it’s a bit big so I might need to hem it ( it’s just weird material but I’ll give it a try)
