Well, damn. The 15th season of SN will be its last. Padalecki and Ackles made the announcement that they're ready to go to something new. While I don't blame them and I'll be the first one to admit that not all seasons were all that great, I'm going to miss the show.

Years ago, I came home from a meeting one night and turned the tv on while changing my clothes. Did some channel-surfing and came across a bare-chested Sam (Padalecki). Said, "Hello there! What is this?" and sat down on the edge of the bed. And that was that. (Yes, I admit that I do occasionally swim in the shallow end of the pool.)

I developed a hell of a crush on Papa John Winchester and even shed a couple tears when he died. My name here on TCS is Winchester and that's because of SN.

I've watched every single episode, some more than once (or twice or three times or more). I have all the seasons on DVD. When Banshee was alive, her birthday was September 20. I always had that day off work and she and I would spend the day on the couch with me watching the previous season of SN and her flopped on my chest sleeping. It was our "thing" and we did it for years until she passed away.

After 15 years, what the hell am I gonna do with my Thursday nights? :sigh:

Wow, hubby will be very disappointed! I've kinda expected it was coming to an end. They did have an amazing run! I agree not all seasons were as good. However its the only tv show we really watch now. Guess we will have to survive on watching our dvds over & over.

I should mention, too, that it was the only tv show in which the car was just as good-looking as the guys! That Impala rocked. When it was wrecked the first time, I actually sat up on the couch and gasped. Baby is/was awesome.

As was Crowley. And the hellhounds. When Crowley died, I sat there and said, "Well damn! That sucked little green worms!"

The music wasn't bad either. Lots to love about that show.

I'm going to miss it.

*Sigh* I know it's really time for it to end, but dang. Dean Winchester is my TV husband and I'm not really sure I'm ready for a separation, much less a divorce.

All I can say is that the writers better not screw up the finale. Honestly, I'd rather just see them drive off into the sunset together, headed toward their next case than have an "ending" ending. I don't want them dead or married off. An "ending" ending is too painful.

One more thing I'll share: When I was working on my PhD, I needed another academic publication under my belt, so I wrote a paper on fandom which was eventually published by the Boston University Press. As research I attended Comic Con in San Diego where I was actually able to sit down and talk to Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. It took some doing but my university arranged a press pass for me, and those two guys could not have been nicer. What was supposed to be a thirty minute interview at the convention center turned into a two and a half hour dinner at a four star restaurant. We just all sorta hit it off, I guess. When the journal with my article in it came out, they sent me a bottle of Salon Blanc de Blancs Vintage Brut Champagne, which I thought was one of the most awesome things ever. In fact, I have the empty bottle on display in a shelf in my den. In addition to them I also spoke to Stephen Amel, Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan and a two people from "Teen Wolf" whose names I'm embarrassed to say I've forgotten. They were all great, especially Stephen Amel and Jeremy Jordan, but Jensen and Jared were really something. And let me tell you, Jensen absolutely has to be an alien. Normal humans just aren't that incredibly handsome. Or nice.

Yep. He is definitely my TV husband.

Jealous much? :redtongue:

LOL! :lol::lol2::flail::hyper:

Very jealous!! Lol. I don't usually get excited about people on tv. But this show is just full of cute guys.

Jealous? Oh my dear sweet lord, YES! :thud:(And if I could find the Worship icon, I'd post it. I can never find icons when I need them.) Heavens, but you rock. Champagne! From Sam and Dean! I agree about Jensen, but Jared's pecs? :hearthrob: And yes, my name is all because of SN. I seriously thought about "Colt" too (and an SN fan would know why), but just decided on Winchester.

I would love for them to bring Bobby back for the finale season. And Crowley. Man, but I love Crowley.

"I hope your freakin' apple pie was worth it!" makes me smile every time.

And I completely agree with this: "Don't be afraid of the dark? What, are you kidding me? Of course you should be afraid of the dark! You know what's out there!"

Don't be too jealous, lol. It's my one and only brush with any kind of fame. But it really was a fun evening and totally surreal. And I agree with you about Crowley . . . but I'm not holding my breath. I think Mark Shepherd has said that it would be a cold day in hell before he'd come back, which is a shame. He was one of my favorites. Rowena, too. I really like Ruth Connell and think that she does a great job.

I have to admit that I'm anxious and nervous about how they're going to end the series. The old hunter adage that it either ends bloody or sad is too much for me. Couldn't they just ride off into the sunset in the Impala? I'm curious: what's your ideal ending?

I'm worried about the ending, too. My ideal ending? Riding off into the sunset in Baby. Perfect. Don't kill either one of them. Please don't. And do NOT wreck Baby.

I really miss Crowley. I'm not sure what all happened there with Mark Shepherd, but I read, too, that he refused to come back. He was an excellent King of Hell. I liked Bobby, too, but had some issues with him going off with Mary (not a big Mary fan). I loved Gabriel; he was a riot.

Aw, geez, but I'm going to miss that show.

Aw I'm way late to the party but going to post anyway :)

Huge SPN fan and have been for years, though I had a long, long break where I didn't watch. I don't know anyone else who watches... Buffy, yes, Grimm, yes, Angel, yes. SPN? No :(

Just started S11. Really must stop shortly, it's 1.15am... Ooops

Have to say two of the reasons I stopped watching for a long time were Rowena and Charlie. I just really didn't like the characters and I'm afraid that Ruth Conell's voice made me want to rip my ears off. And I'm Scots!!

I utterly adore Crowley :) he has THE best lines :)

Wildly jealous of meeting 'the boys' - what an amazing experience!!

I got hooked on SPN a few years ago. Watched some on regular cable, then discovered a streaming site where I binged it.
I took a break from all tv for a while in 2017-18, but I've since caught up to S14.

I don't know anyone else who watches... Buffy, yes, Grimm, yes, Angel, yes. SPN? No :(
What is wrong with your friends?!!! lol
Grimm is another fave. Just binged that whole thing again recently.

Has anyone seen early vids of a couple of Cellists from Croatia.. The Two Cellos? They freakin' look like Sam and Dean. NO JOKE

Anyway... where was I?...
Oh yes! So jelly of lavishsqualor lavishsqualor ! Usually, when celebrities are running the Con circuit, they are pretty preoccupied with "being celebrities". But I've heard from other sources that most of the cast of SPN are just very cool.

I think my favorite seasons were the early ones with Kim Manners. The writing seemed to struggle after his passing.

I loved the dynamic between the boys and Crowley. Whatever happened behind the scenes to derail that is really unfortunate.
I was never a really big fan of Rowena. Her dialect seemed too forced to my ear. Maybe because I watched a lot of Outlander (lots of Scots and Brit variations).

I will never be able to hear Carry On Wayward Son without thinking of Supernatural.

One of my GFs tried to watch SN, but couldn't get into it. *sigh* I still keep hoping against hope that Shepherd agrees to come back for the final season. I know he said he won't, but.....

I had a coffee mug (and a black t-shirt) that "advertises" Crowley's Hell-Hound Ale. The coffee mug didn't make it through the dishwasher, but I still have the shirt.

I agree about Carry On My Wayward Son. Same with Back in Black, Bad Moon Rising, etc. I have a Supernatural songs file on my iPod and listen to it often.

If anybody's interested, here's Dean classic rock collection: TV's Supernatural Music Playlist: Dean's Classic Rock Collection There are others out there, too.

Can't get the hang of quotes for some reason, but Furmonster, no idea lol! I actually only know 2 people who have even remotely similar taste in shows to me and one of them I discovered was a massive Buffy fan totally by accident. I think it came up because at one point I had a rather lovely wallpaper of Spike on my phone... I'm the weird one who likes vamps and books about zombies etc.

I binged Grimm over the summer :) And had a Buffy marathon back in March before my DVF player packed up. I refuse to watch the remastered HD abomination on Amazon prime. Just awful.

Carry on my Wayward Son will always be THE SPN song. So great for singing very loudly and a bit of air guitar :D. And close runners up are Highway to Hell and who can forget Eye of the Tiger??!

Oooh Winchester, great link!!! Does anyone know if it's possible to get the version of Wayward Son that the girls sing as part of their production of SPN ?

I think one of my favourite episodes ever is S5 yellow fever. So, so funny especially when Dean screams the place down and insists on manning the torch!:lol::lol:

And the one where they end up being Sam and Dean being Jared and Jensen playing Sam and Dean. And of course the inventive endless Tuesdays... Ah, good times.

Looking forward to seeing how S11 progresses.
