My cats started getting sick on friday. Throwing up and vomiting. They were eating FF twice a day. dry twice a day. Im trying to see if its the food. I made chicken breast in my pressure cooker for lunch today. What else can i feed them? It just needs to be temporary to see if I can get the stool under control. Need to get a sample to the vet. I just measured out 1.3 oz for lunch. Is that to much meat? with nothing added to it? Im glad they kept it down but worry its to rich. is that what they should be eating? with supplement added of course.
Im thinking of cooking chicken thighs next, maybe adding tuna.

Well at 3 days of vomiting and loose stool I worry more about dehydration now. A lot goes into making their meals, but for a couple of days cooked bland meats should be fine. As far as how much they should eat, it depends on their weight and activity level... Are you planning to take them to the vet? It probably isn't the food causing it if FF is what they were already eating. The vet can give you a bland diet for a week or so to calm their digestive tract and hopefully get them back to normal. Did they get into something? I would take them in for an exam asap.

I would hold the tuna until their tummies are under control.

The vet needs a stool sample. I have to try and get them to poop in an empty box. I need to give them something that wont upset their stomach, give them moisture and maybe help with diarrhea or stop if it was the food.

If you can't get the sample, take the cats to the vet. They will be able to get the sample. If they can't there's either nothing in the cats, or you need a new vet.

Plus they can get likely much needed subQ fluids at the vet also.

Remember if the cat is really sick you should try giving him a liquid diet!
If not feel free to feed him chicken wings or any other solid food!

My vet told me baby cereal and Pedialyte or Gatorade for Jax when she got sick--make sure neither has artificial sugars like aspartame, asulfame potassium, xylitol, etc as those aren't good for cats. He also said meat based baby food. I mixed the baby food with an egg (I have chickens so feel super comfortable giving my cats raw eggs. In fact, my outdoor kitty will seek out eggs if she can). DON'T use egg substitute, just real eggs. If your cat likes it, plain yogurt or mashed cottage cheese mixed with everything. I also got cat milk and a high calorie gel from Petsmart, and mixed the meat with the gel, an egg, some Pedialyte, yogurt, and baby food sweet potatoes. Jax hated that mix, the others quite loved it. Rachel Ray has a grain free cat food called Nourish if you are uncomfortable with giving the cat grains.

Don't mix the cereal with the Pedialyte. This increases the zinc too much. For the cereal, make sure it's a type already in the wet food if your cat eats wet food. 9 Lives and Friskies usually use wheat.

I got a 5 mL children's medicine syringe. Dental syringes work but you have to cut off the tip to let the food through, so it's better to get a syringe with a wider mouth--also this way there's not a lot of pressure on the food going in the mouth.

Everything I had left over from Jax I donated to the vet for other kitties who needed to be syringe fed.

Hope this helps!

On Thursday or Friday, did you start feeding them a new lot of purchased food? It's possible it is the food. I had a cat that could only eat a very, very low carb diet (no commercial dry food). So, she got a lot of canned fish (straight, nothing added). One day she started throwing up. By the third day, she wouldn't eat the fish. I gave it to another cat. Soon after, he started throwing up. I knew it was the food. I bought a different type of fish, or brand, and life went back to normal.

It's just a possibility. You could try giving them a different brand, or purchase the same food from a different retailer (making sure the lot, or manufacturers number are not the same as the food you have now).

Some the the diet info above is good (I didn't read all of it).
